What a lovely surprise!

A conversation with my girlfriend led to her remembering some gifts she had received from a family friend at the age of 9. She didn't value these gifts very much, on the contrary, she found them lame. You couldn't play with it and also this kind of gift seemed rather pointless to a child, although she was already happy to have received a gift at all. How did she come to remember that? We were talking about gold and silver. I was now very interested in these gifts and asked her to show me one. And what a surprise! An Australian Kookaburra from 1995. But see for yourself...

Wonderfully aged, with a very nice patina. Yeah, it's stained and milky. But that has come about naturally and in my opinion it does not diminish its value at all. A coin this age and in this condition I'd be happy to own. Nobody ever has touched that coin. Neither have I.

Now I know she's the one for me! Nay, not Elizabeth :-)

I tried to tell my girlfriend there are always a few gifts you can give me on any occasion. Guaranteed to make me happy...gold, silver, ammo, or knives. I don't think I've ever received any of those items.
