You Guessed it, it's Friday. That means another trip to Pawn Shop.

Seems like I bought alot today but didnt get many oz's. Today they had junk silver at spot. I am not usually a big fan of Junk silver, but I am a big Fan of Silver at SPOT

So I picked up the following

QUARTERS PRE 1964, 90% silver

DIMES PRE 1964, 90% silver

20170825_172712.jpg

war nickles 1942-1945, 35% silver

Not really to for sure how I got suckered into the nickels. But maybe they will come in handy when the SHTF.

SMI silver rounds walking liberty 1oz

Silver towne stackable buffalo's 1 oz

Not alot of oz's considering the amount of coinage.

Your pawn shop guy must love seeing you walk through the door!

Lol, I hope he does. He is pretty cool though. I habe been buying from him for some time, he know that I know the current value.😉

Is there a quick way you can test the silver at the pawn shop to verify that it's real? Buying at spot sounds great since I've been paying over spot for bars and eagles online. Thank you for the ideas.

Magnets and trust are the only 2 quick ones I know off.

Nice...upvoted

Thanks!

I'm not sure the nickles will ever jump in value, but at least they are not made of wood! I really like Silvertown products.

Lol, well i guess your right, wood would suck. Silver towne dosen't get the credit they deserve, they really do a good job. Hey thanks for the visit @doctorjohn .

Those buff's like class, i have never seen them like that before. Thanks for sharing

Yep, Silver Towne does an excellant job with them. Thanks for visit my friend.

You have a really nice collection!

Thanks

Any addition to the stack is a good one! Nice pickups, Ray!

That is an excellant way to look at it. Keep stacking my friend.

good pickup, nice pile of junk :)

Thanks buddy.

cannot turn down silver at spot and some good coins as well.. if only great deals like that was in the uk. maybe on gold but silver is rare to pickup that cheap.

How cheap can you get silver in the UK? Thanks for the visit.

most of the time its a few quid over spot for me, extra 20% tax sucks!

Yeah the tax on silver is a killer no tax on gold. owenwat is right thats the lowest most of the time. Plus the old silver money went out of circ in 1947 which was 50% and 1926 90%. so even those coins cannot really be bought for spot. unless your a dealer i guess. Silvers a bad deal here in eu not just uk. I really going to be buying more gold moving forward i think especally lower premium

I love pawn shop Fridays! I actually forgot what day it was haha Nice junk and generic adds mi amigo. I love the quarters, just a good size to have a handful and play with

Thanks my friend. I see team Canada is growing pretty good. I need to hang out there one day😎👍

Excellent Friday pick up.

Thanks buddy

Silver at spot is always a score. 9oz + some "junk" silver, not a bad haul!
Stack on.

Spot is always nice, thanks for the visit my friend.

I like the stack-able coins there, perhaps someone should make silver with slots so once stacked it turns into a solid piece. Or perhaps make "Silver Jenga" with solid silver bars. All this stacking, you think they could make it even more fun

You might be on to something here. Thanks for the visit.

Nice man, that awesome you pick up some every week. I'm really going to have to get out there again and see if I can make some friends at the pawnshops here. I got the cold shoulder when I checked as a noob, but maybe I can talk the talk now.

I am sure you can, it just takes some time, I know my guy pretty well, and he knows that I know what the current value is.

Great haul Ray.
Not a bad trip to the pawn shop buddy.
Cheers for sharing

Thanks my friend, and thanks for stopping by.

Nice pick up you got there. From where I'm from silver is a no no at the pawn shop because they don't follow spot and a ASE can cost USD$50.00 there😭

Ouch, yeah mine is like a pawn shop-silver dealer, kinda wierd but it works. Thanks

Sweet Haul! Think i'm gonna' have to pay a Saturday visit to the shop!

I think you should, I look forward to every friday.

Ray - While bars are cheaper near spot, are 1 ounce coins a better investment in the silver community? For utility, the coins feel more viable, but if smaller bars carry just as much clout in a barter economy, then I'd prefer to get more at a lower price. ...I'm just short of my short term stacking goal by 20 oz, and am debating more Silver Eagles vs 1 or 10 oz bar options for my last purchase before moving on to buying gold. I'm at roughly 75% bars and 25% coins. Thanks.

I am a bullion bar guy, I will take a bar anyday over a round. Rounds tend to carry a higher premium. When the time comes to sell, it won't matter what you have, it will matter what you bought it for. Hey, thanks for the visit.

Nice shopping trip, keep stacking! One day, it won't be available for people to get their hands on it.

Very cool man. Those stackable rounds are pretty awesome.
