I have read a couple articles recently that provide a detailed description of the auction @raybrockman hosted on the steemsilvergold discord channel. If for some reason you live under a rock. @Raybrockman decided to auction of 2017 and 2018 Steem 1oz silver rounds. Interesting enough they were both #0004 of 1,500. On top of the two rounds, he sprinkled some sugar on the deal by including a 2018 #4 2oz Steem silver ingot produced by our very own @pit-bullion. Winner of the auction would then have the rights to the #0004 Steem round in the up comming years.

The auction sure did take off fast! There was a good amount of people watching live which lead to a great show. Needless to say, I am a collector at heart. I missed out on the 2017 Steem rounds and really felt the need to participate in this auction. From the very first time I saw the Steem rounds I have always been drawn to them because of the LOW MINTAGE. Of course, they have fantastic designs that change year to year. The attention to detail on design really stands out when a round is STRUCK as well as these are. On top of all the collectability factors I just provided. The Steem round comes with a certificate of authenticity that shows the serial number associated with it.

I have touched on this topic a few times in my personal Steem articles. All the collectability factors associated with the Steem rounds push them into the "full package" collectable status in my opinion.

@collectcryptodotcom AKA @silveringots

Some may be quick to say that it is crazy to pay that amount of money for 4 total ounces of silver. On the other hand, there were several other people bidding? To the point @raybrockman had to set an end time! I believe if it had been a 24hr auction price could have possibly doubled. Public auctions will always put a value on an item based on the demand. That is exactly what occurred that day. The crypto currency market is still young. Mix that into the precious metals market and you yield a Steem round. A young market that is just starting to gain traction. That is the type of market that excites me! Add in all the collectability factors I mentioned above and it could be something MAJOR in the future. That is my perspective.

I want to personally THANK @raybrockman for hosting the auction. He kept it very professional! Shipping was fast and very well packaged.

@pit-bullion your craftsmanship and attention to detail is very impressive. Enjoying the 2oz!

Appreciate all the members of #steemsilvergold. What happened the other day with the #0004 Steem rounds is a big step forward! This is all part of the journey to success...

Looking good buddy, diffently rocking out tur 4's. Appreciate the shout out. Glad they made it to you safely. After I mailed the, I realized maybe I should have put some extra insurance on them!😁

Hahaha valid point on the insurance. Everything looks great. Excited for the future🔥

Hmm.... I will give you $460 for the 2 steem rounds and you can keep the @pit-bullion bar as a free gift😉

That was a great auction to watch, and you did a great job getting #4. That is about as low as you can go.

Thanks @senstless. I saw it as a rare oppurtunity..

Congrats, my friend! You made a wonderful deal and I am sure that you will never regret it.

Thanks @ronaldoavelino! Even if I do regret it, you will never win if you don't take chances. Right ?

Good stuff @silveringots, congratulations. And to everyone involved, @raybrockman for having the huevos to test the waters with probably the lowest number steem rounds we will see for sale, and to all the bidders who hung in to prove the true current market value of said round, congratulations on making history!

Thanks @summertooth! Well said right here....

I was just circling back to add a thank you! As a holder of both years of the steem round, I have realized that you guys have set the value of these rounds, and you have shown that it is quite high. Thanks again, what a show!

No doubt it was interesting to see. If you are still looking for a 2017 Steem Round hit me up on discord my friend.👍

Thanks @silverd510. I appreciate the 2017 offer and I may take you up on that in the near future. Anything I can help you out with let me know. ✌👊

Thank you for your continued support of SteemSilverGold

Congrats @silveringots! Watching the auction go down was a blast and I know you will enjoy your newest additions. Who knows what those will be worth a few years from now. Its mind boggling.

@knowledge-seeker it was a lot of fun. As an outsider looking in last year. It was extremely difficult for me to find a 2017 steem round about 6 months after they were in the hands of owners. There just isn't many of these around period. .

So what was paid for this package in the end, I missed that.

Sorry I will add that to the article. $455.00. @goldrooster

Wow it might sound a lot to pay but having the right to #0004 and keeping that set running will pay off big time. Congratulations

@stephen-somers I believe the right to #0004 is worth a significant premium in itself. Have to take advantage of unique oppurtunities like this. Especially when you believe in the project. 👊

Nice Win!! It would have went for ALOT more if it was on open board. I'm hoping somebody with 8 or below will post their 2017/2018 rounds for sale now that raybrockman has started things off...….don't believe the rumors that there aren't 2017 rounds available.

Yes it should be interesting to see what pops up for sale now! I was looking for 2017 steem rounds when I wasn't on Steemit and they were almost impossible to find. We are used to seeing them here but when your not a member. It's a different story ..

@silveringots great job brother! I watched this happen and all I kept thinking was wow that escalated quickly lol. You were basically paying for the future rights to the low number of a low mintage round. I understand and if I had the bank would be right there with you my friend. Great job and congrats!!

Thanks @dwingsworld ! Ya it was a unique opportunity and I took a chance on it. 👊

@silveringots Very Nice Pick Up and Low Serial Numbers too...............

Thank you @stokjockey!
