Stacking, Saving, Wealth

in steemsilvergold •  7 years ago

The foundation of my silver stack is comprised of
1 oz bullion coins in American Silver Eagles
and fractional silver in US Constitutional coins.

Occasionally and depending on the price, I may purchase
1 oz generic rounds for my stack, which was what I did early this month.

My goal is to try to complete one roll of 1 oz silver a month.

Please use the slider to see the purchase price of these rounds.

The real opportunity in building a stack lies in being able to take advantage of a money-making opportunity when it presents itself. And I can only do this with savings.

There are many (or a few) opportunities that may come to my stacking life. But if am only using debt and credit, then I am not in a position to create those opportunities.

Having readily available funds is a huge advantage
to grab the opportunity quickly when it presents itself.

Even if I am accumulating silver and gold,
I can occasionally liquidate my precious metals,
(which I have not done yet and still waiting for the right time)
to take advantage of the opportunity that’s going to give me
more money to replace the bullion I liquidated,
plus and more so that I am growing my wealth.

I do not need to have thousands of ounces of silver.

I can look for opportunities in the level of savings I have.

But it is my savings that gives me the opportunity to create more wealth.

Thank you for being here. I hope to see you again soon!

Those are some great rounds and great advice !!!

I appreciate you @mikegpo. You are a true supporter of a friend.

Firstly, I will always say how ASEs are one of the top three items to build a foundation for a stack, then you hit the other constitutional bam. The third is more of a general guideline to stack the bullion coin that your government produces (For us the ASE, however if you are in Canada then its the Maple.) I follow this model for the most part, but I try to pick up everything as close to spot as possible. My general guideline is 21 or below for the most part, but obviously I am human so sometimes I bend lol.
Now on to the meat of your post and how important savings truly is. I believe that most stackers including yourself and myself have very strong principles that we hold to. I think that we are all trying to find the best vehicles to hold our wealth, while watching others make choices we warn them about. For me, I find metals, real estate, firearms, ammo, and skills are the places that make the most sense. It is saving my fiat that makes my investment in these items and myself possible. I really believe that if more people realized how to save our world and government would be in a much better place. Thanks so much for the great post and the gorgeous rounds my friend!!

Indeed, so true. I believe in storing wealth in things with real value, but I learned to save in fiat only when I started stacking. Great comment, @dwings. I always enjoy the engagement you provide!

I am happy to help my friend!! It is true it often takes holding real value in order to train yourself to be disciplined to achieve more. Very proud of how well you are doing on Steemit by the way!! Probably gonna have to start getting tips from you. Thanks for the very kind words as well!

Great advice! Yes, I agree. Stacking precious metals are a great savings/store of value. But it does not generate income. We need to be flexible to take advantage of opportunities as they present themselves to us.

Precious metals are at this level is a Hedge rather than an Investment. Current macroeconomic fundamentals are indicating many Issues that are overwhelmingly problematic which the corporate media ignores. It's only Part of an overall plan. For example @silversaver888 and I both have also Rental Income property that generate a passive income stream regardless of the economic conditions meanwhile we could write off Interest and upkeep costs.

Yes, good to view it as a hedge too! I agree on it being part of an overall plan. I too have rental properties. Passive income are my favorite! We should not rely on just one source of income.

A good post...and i wonder how to have that silver coin

That is a great goal to have! You will have a small fortune before the year is done in tubes. Since this was my first year stacking, my goal was to get about 50 ounces before the year is up and I am about half way there :)

Best of luck @silversaver888!

It is so amazing what stacking a little every month can amount to. Keep going, my friend. Slow and steady wins the race. Stay away from the hype. STeady the course. Buy regularly, researching the best deal, but not having to worry much about fluctuating spot price. Keep stacking.

Nice adds - while I almost always buy the lowest generics I can find, I struggle to buy the buffalo's for anything other than trade fodder. I just don't like them much.

I love those Constance rounds, they are on my future buy list.

Hahaha, design preference is all personal. I, on the other hand, always looked this design as very iconic of the American spirit of unity and strenght. My first 1 oz gold coin is the first year issue American Gold Buffalo proof because I think that the design is most beautiful! The design of the coin is often refered to as a "masterpiece" both the obverse and reverse. The generic versions are not as detailed, but good enough, LOL!

Made a little spare cash Moonlighting over the last few days - Its all going into Silver!

That is the advantage of your job., Your skill, training, and profession are very much in demand. I hear traveling nurses make three to four times that going rates. Way to go, Sis!!!!

I just woke UP so I guess I was not here FIRST. @silversaver888

Hi, how do you define 1 roll? 15? 20? It is a great to have very defined goals. I am haphazardly buying, mainly those that catches my eye (dragons......). Not sure if I am stacking or collecting...

...a roll as it refers to American Silver Eagles, which is 20. A roll of coins comes in a different number of coins depending on the coin. Most stackers are also collectors. For instance, I collect hand poured silver that is made by members of the stacking community. Then I also collecting silver cons, bars or rounds with ships, dragon, and patriotic symbols of America. I also collect anything that strikes my interest, either because they represent something it is something fancy. For my stack, that is always purchased every month as a store of wealth are American Silver Eagles, US Constitutional coins, and fractional gold. All the rest are a hodge-podge of silver... which really at this point in time is more in weight than my stack. I really should just focus on stacking, LOL!

Thanks for clarifying!

I have some more Maple Leaves, some ASE, Philharmonics, Libertads - kinda hodgepodge for the 1oz for stacking. I favor Canadian constitutional silver but also have some US ones.

My more recent purchases, I suppose fall into the collection category, chasing after dragons and such...

I am eyeing platinum coins as well, as there seems to be price discrepancy, it being cheaper than gold at the moment, which does not really make sense due to the relative scarcity of both metals.

Why silver versus other precious metals?

My end goal is gold. Silver is affordable for my tiny income. It is mostly what I stack. I also buy one fractional gold every month and set aside fiat currency as well. When the time is right, I will convert my silver stack to gold.
Thank you for stopping by, my friend. It looks like you and I are into saving? Please accompany me in my journey to save in silver, gold and fiat! Great to have you here. Take care.

Most excellent post sweetie! Great goals, strategy, and advice! Beautiful Buffalos! 😍 Have a wonderful weekend my SSFL👊💗

Excellent price on the Buffalo rounds! Good deal!

Yes, I think so too. They say that the money is made when you buy the metal.
