Great contest.... upvoted and shared. Gold Fact: On this very day, 25th of Kislev (December) God instructed Moses to build the menorah using 100 lbs of Gold. ... In the holy place there was no window or place to let in the light. It was lit from a glorious golden lampstand, which stood directly opposite the table on the south side in the Holy Place. Made from one piece of solid beaten gold it weighed about 43 kg. (over 100 lbs.). In Hebrew it is known as the 'menorah' and has developed into one of the most commonly used symbols of Judaism.

A religious Fact. The comment section get more and more educational. You're in.

Thanks... I was amazed when I went back and read the Old Testament how much of a Gold bug God is.... everything needed to be made from Gold.

Arg! Was Materie alles kann. Du bist dabei.

It grows on trees! Eucalyptus tree roots can pick up microscopic traces of gold in the ground. So as the tree grows, the gold is spread around.

Gold fact: Gold is a great conductor and is used in highest quality electronic applications for coating contacts to prevent corrosion.

You're in. Merry Christmas.

Thanks for the contest @smartcoins! For centuries gold has been used as a store of wealth. It is also a very good hedge against current inflation and the ongoing devaluation of the dollar. Merry Christmas!

I totally agree with. You're in too.. MerryChristmas

Gold has antimicrobial properties, which is part of the reason why they use it to plate the inside of the cup on a chalice in the Catholic Church.

It is also used in the chalice because it does not corrode, and does not react with the wine.

Very interesting! you're in.

Welch süße Idee!

100 % (leider grad mal 0.10 Cent) sorry :-*

Kennste Den:

Wish you a merry goldenDust...;-)

Gold Fact: Gold is an edible metal. Ash of purified 24 Karat gold is used to prepare an Ayurvedic medication called Swarn-Bhasma (Gold-ash) in India, to cure several ailments. It comes in the form of tablets and capsules and is sold at pharma stores. It is also used in Chyawanprash and as a foil for some costly sweets for Diwali festivals now a days, which can be eaten by anyone.

Yeah. Gold is the best medicine. You're in.

Man könnte also meinen BitCoin sei das neue Gold 😀

jīn / jin means "gold" in Ancient Chinese, but in Modern Chinese this character often means metal.
In Modern Chinese, gold is called 黄金 huángjīn / hwangjin "[literally] yellow metal", and platinum is called 白金 báijīn / bairjin "[literally] white metal".

BTW, the romanization that appears after the slashes is a Chinese government tonal spelling system that makes learning Chinese tones mnemonic and much easier for foreigners to remember.

Very nice! Pls vote then you're in ;-)

My fact is that the little bit of gold jewelry from an estate brings more money than the rest of the contents of the house put together. I used to do estate sales in Sarasota and I would always sell the gold to a dealer before the sale rather than risk having it stolen during the sale. Sad that it had to be done like that but I learned the hard way it disappears no matter how well you watch the case.

Delicious little chunk of precious Au!

Gold is insoluble in nitric acid, which dissolves silver and base metals, a property that has long been used to refine gold and to confirm the presence of gold in metallic objects, giving rise to the term acid test.

Check out the great posts I already resteemed.

Upvoted, with my itsy bit of steem power, followed and resteemed! I hope I understand all rules... Have not been on steemchat yet. Gold is for me a traditional value, too, and as an Austrian I am proud that there are coins with international reputation made in Austria, the Viennese Philharmonics. 99,99 per cent pure and beautiful to look at!

So true! you're in.:-)

Very Nice, Smart Coins! Followed you, good to see a newer #SSG team member active and supporting STAX! Oh, now I need to present some Gold Facts... GOLD is very dense, almost identical to (W) Tungsten, which is 19.32 grams/cc (Tungsten is 19.60).
Here's one that is right in my area of expertise, People think that GOLD is the BEST Conductor of electricity, but it is NOT. "Then why do they use it on high-end audio equipment and connectors on the Space Shuttle?"
GREAT QUESTION! The reason it is used on connectors is that it does not corrode, and the resistance will not change. Gold is actually far less of a conductor than Silver, #1; Copper, #2...
Copper is rated 100%, Silver is rated 106% and Gold is down there with Aluminum, 64% and 61% respectively...

Also resteemed, you got the Full F.U.R.R. Treatment!

As @underground points out, tungsten is almost as dense as gold. This is why some fake gold bars contain a tungsten core. Caveat emptor!

Here's a famous image from zerohedge.com of a Tungsten "Gold" Bar:

A real Pamp-Swiss bar was hollowed out and the tungsten was inserted, as I recall. Devious!

Thanks. I was looking for such an image, but you found it for me!

Thank you very much for the F.U.R.R treatment and this very instructive comment. We seem seem to have a lot of real experts here. I strongly believe that precious metals and cryptos are far more important for our economical freedom and a lot of other aspects in our life than most people can imagine. Btw What does the last R stand for in F.U.R.R? you're in!

Re-Steem and Reply are the 2 R's!
I should have iterated that FURR stuff :D
Just showed a pic of some of my latest shiny,
on my last post. I need a new camera, I used
a flip phone LOL!

Gold Fact: The worlds largest gold bar weighs 250 kg thats 551 lbs!

Merry Christmas! That's huge. You're on board.

Gold doesn't rust or tarnish.

of course! you're in. Thx for the resteem :-)

you're in btw ;-)

Gold is the only metal that is truly yellow in color. Others can turn after they are oxidized.

True! you're in too ;-)

In the olden-days Gold was used in the manufacture of Red glass for maritime lighting on boats and signal lamps. It was the most expensive colour to make, therefore it is the rarest type of seaglass to find on the beach i have only found one piece :)

cool fact. Next time i make hollidays on the beach I will keepan eye open. Thx you're in.

Gold is extremely ductile and a single ounce of gold can be stretched into a gold thread 5 miles long. Gold threads can even be used as embroidery thread.

COOL!
There is also commercially available Silver Wire ;) Big $$$ Bucke$e$ ;)

yes the malleability of gold is incredible. a single gram can be beaten into a sheet of 1 square meter. I found this picture on wikipedia. you are in.

When you lay out gold flat and thin it looks like a lot. Only 1g for that sheet... That's impressive

A gold nugget of 5 millimetres (0.20 in) in diameter (bottom) can be expanded through hammering into a gold foil of about 0.5 square metres (5.4 sq ft). Toi museum, Japan.

Sry i made a little mistake ;-). but the information is still correct.

You're in!

21m wie 21 Millionen Bitcoin?? ;)

good
