It's Time! Valhalla Poured Silver Bar Giveway Time!!!

in steemsilvergold •  7 years ago

I've decided it's time! Hopefully whoever wins this sweet little guy has it in their hands by Christmas! Rules are below, read and follow them to be entered, please!

image

This is the front or obverse of the bar, features a Jera Rune that depicts a good year or harvest. Also features are some beautiful pour lines.

image

The back or reverse features its weight (1 Troy Ounce) and the fineness (.999)

This bar was poured by hand in the Carson City, Nevada area by Valhalla Silver. His pours and other items are some of my favorite pieces of silver and now I'm giving everyone on Steemit a chance at owning their very own!

The Rules

  • I'm going to ask for at least a 50% upvote (100% preferred) on this post AND comment something you like about silver, or Vikings, or handmade things.

  • In one week (7 days) once this post "pays out" I will enter all the names that have voted and commented something that fits in the guidelines and enter them into a list on random.org I will then randomize the names 3 times. The name at the top after the 3rd shuffle will be the winner! I will record the process and post a video of it.

  • The winner will need to contact me on steem chat or Discord.

  • Resteeming is not required, but would be greatly appreciated!

  • Open to anyone and everyone on Steemit regardless of country. If you have an address you're eligible and I will ship anywhere in the world!

  • Bonus All SBD from this post will be donated to @silvergoldbotty aka STAX to support the continued growth of the #steemsilvergold community so drop some fat votes!

If you're not already following @silvergoldbotty drop by and say hello over there, STAX is a #steemsilvergold community supported and run bot so if you like this poured bar you will probably like a lot of the other stuff the #steemsilvergold folks post!

Good luck to all!

Sweet contest. What I like about the Vikings is that they took no bullcrap. When Erik the Red was kicked out of Scananavia he went ahead and made a new land in Iceland, then figured why stop there so his boy Leif Eriksson went on to Greenland and eventually they came to Newfoundland them down to Maine. There's even some Runic carvings on Georgia and South Carolina!
This was long before Columbus! That's badass.
And I like silver for the same reason I like Bitcoin, because it's an alternative to the establishment currency. I think we're all a bit Viking in the stacker world😎

I concur, we stackers are all a bit Vi-KING! :D

Best comment evah!

Hell yea! You're in dude!

What I just adore about silver are all the places you can use it to decorate your body with....
like a Dolce & Gabanna Silver Corset

If I win, please send it to @battleaxe, StoneWallStrategic !
She's my #steemsilvergold recruit and she needs some SHINY!

🤣🤣 didn't even know that existed! Learn something every day!

You're in!

I love it. I'd trade my Steel Boned Battle corset any day. And toss in my Brocaded Red rose Corset too.

UPDATES, Jackson? ;)
Christmas is Coming!!! lol

Winner announcement post has been up since this morning, buddy!

:p
It is good form to place a link or announcement of the winner, in the contest thread...

It's not like our follows and updates are exactly "state of the art" yet, in our Beta-max release LOL!!! :D

My bad, I figured posting it here would just end up lost in the shuffle as well and figured folks would just swing by my blog to check! Duly noted for next time though!

Cool Silver pour

Thanks man!

My heritage is Irish and my Wife’s is Scandinavian so we call our little son Leon: the Viking Leprechaun — both of which are steeped in the lust for the shiny!

Hahaha! That is awesome... I see Halloween costume in the making with that name!

You're in dude!

Are you kidding me? I AM A VIKING!!! And I love silver.
100% Upvote for giving away cool shit!

True Story:
My mom has an Irish maiden name. She was told they were Irish through and through her whole life. Nobody ever questioned it. My mom is fair skinned and blue eyed blonde hair. But she is tall. 5'10" which is tall for a woman. Myself and my brothers are all 6 footers, big burly looking mofos. So my dad paid for my mom to have a DNA genealogy test a few years back. Turns out she is 60% Scandinavian and not Irish! She called me up and said "Son, your a Viking." I said "No Shit!" I call my blue eyed, blonde haired daughter my Viking Princess.
If you think about it the Norsemen invaded Europe and Ireland and Scotland for hundreds of years. So its easy to imagine a lot of Scandinavian blood running around with Irish surnames. One of my ancestors got knocked up by a Viking marauder and all I got was this lousy t-shirt.

Just Kidding. This is my favorite shirt.

Those crazy Norsemen running all over the place spreading their seed!! Haha, thats really cool, buddy. Love the shirt!

Nice looking piece of silver there. I've always wondered if the vikings made it to Australia.

With as much as those guys got around I wouldn't be surprised!

@stnwllstrtgc I Like Silver because Old Vintage Bars are like a Play Ground for me to find some ERROR that either Engelhard or Johnson Matthey made when they manufactured their bars...............................

Nice! I haven't personally got too into engelhard JM stuff, but I do like looking at the vintage stuff!

You're in!

great pal, thank you - v+r

Like right here, not many people know what v + r means. U are missing out on a great opportunity to share a little bit about ur service.
Have a pre-loaded message for whenever u resteem that says u are a paid resteem service that also rewards you a bigger upvote than it cost to use the service. U could use that as ur slogan buy a resteem for free... because ur upvote is worth more than the cost of the resteem. I think people would use a service like that often, basically u are getting something for free. :)

i am making this service to enjoy firstly and to gain loyal friends,
i had bad time in the last 2 years of my life bcz of my x-wife
i am just trying to survive, so when i support anyone in upvoting +190% i am actually not losing, i am gaining a friend, a loyal friend, and the fees is just a commercial thing.
therefore, i thank you again for your really good advice about the v+r , though, i need more fees count, but my power still not toooooo much strong, so slowly i grow in power and fees payers, as if i jump to so many payers, then i will not be able to fulfill my commitment towrads them, and as i am a man who fears god, i will not scam my friends,,,,

so i kepp collecting slowly new fee payers one new per week.

cheers mate

Great looking bar @stnwllstrtgc! I have always loved silver, as a hedge against inflation and a great way to save for the future. I have bars and coins that my Grandfather and father passed down, at nearly face value to maybe 3x face value. They saved this silver away in case they needed it, and passed it along when they could. I really love the look of the hand poured bars and the primitive looking rounds. Thanks, upvoted and following!

That is so awesome that your dad and grandfather saved and passed down silver. I hope to be able to do that for my children and grandchildren!

I like how the Vikings arnt afraid of dying because they will go to Valhalla 🗡

In all the old Norse stories Valhalla sounds so badass...

You're in my man!

Wow thank you! Excited to participate in this contest.

I'm a great admirer of silver items in general. I've got whole collection of silver coins from 19th and 20th century. I love antiques and old stuff especially handmade since I know myself how hard it is and how much work it requires to create something on your own!
Vikings..?! Well who doesn't like the Vikings after that stunning show xD #steemsilvergold

I love old coins as well.

You’re in!

HAHAHA, "sort-of prepper" ! Nice. I love vikings because of all we DON'T know about them. Seems like they kinda kicked ass but didn't bother taking names. A lot of what I know of Vikings (not much) is from reading histories of other cultures interaction with Vikings. Good luck to all!

Haha, I'm not hardcore enough to call myself a full on prepper 🤣
Definitely agree about the Vikings, I love reading any articles that come out when ever a new burial site is discovered!

You're in!

That is a sick bar! Vikings were bada$$e$! They would have pillaged a whole village just to get their hands on it!
Of course I would love to have it!

Thanks for this awesome contest and good luck to everyone!

The Vikings sure didn't mess around with their silver and gold!

You're in!

What do I like about silver..... What's not to like? Affordable(at the moment), precious metal, great looking, amazing to touch and hold and a great way of storing wealth for the future. And a resteem to get more sdb for Stax

You're in buddy! And as of this exact moment you have a 100% chance of winning 🤣🤣

End it now.... End it now!!!!

Ha!

What I like about silver is the stories that go along with it. It always interesting to think about who held it and what maybe they used it to buy/trade for.

Definitely! One of the many reasons I love old US coins, because there's probably some cool storiea those coins could tell if they could talk!

You're in!

Its definitely the hand crafted aspect of these bars that gives them their appeal, the symbolism of the runic symbol adds yet another facet of mysticism \o/

Yup! Silver already has a bit of a mystical appeal in my opinion just because it is such an ancient form of wealth, adding symbols from bygone civilizations only increases that appeal!

You're in!

Vikings have those cool metal helmets with Bada$$ Horns on them, and I suspect that most of them are Silver... Swords, Axes, and Maces made them formidable in hand to hand combat. Their women were mainly Blondes with Bigg Juggs protected by Silver breastplates. What's Not To LIKE? :D Up-Voting with a 50+ VOTE-SWARM, (ninjawhale-bot) and a resteem :D

the men had huge cod-pieces

Black/Brunette is more attractive ;) They really stand out amongst the blondes that are so common in the Viking areas...

I need one of those, what do you call it? Huge Cod-Piece? :D ;)

I hope B.A Wins, she needs some SHINY!

If I win, please send it to @battleaxe, StoneWallStrategic ! ;)

All very valid reasons to like Vikings!!

Thanks for the vote swarm!

You're in!

Great contest man, thanks for hosting it. I really like poured silver and this a great piece, the viking and silver themes really fit well together.

Agreed! Adds an aspect of art to what was once just some generic silver, much like the stuff you guys design and sell, buddy!

You're in!

i love silver always have . i love handmade things because no 2 are the same . and vikings are just fcking awesome

I'm with you on all 3!

You're in buddy!

I like silver. It’s cheap enough that you can buy enough to stack. I like crypto, but you can’t stack it.

I like handmade stuff because of the care and attention put into it.

I like Vikings because they were savage. A warrior culture. No safe spaces in valhalla.

With the trifecta! Agreed on all fronts!

You're in my friend!

Silver is such a beautiful metal. I love the way it looks in the sun.

I believe it is one of the most reflective metals on earth! It also plays a huge role in solar power equipment. Silver is outstanding!

You're in!

I like silver and Vikings because they're both baddass and not for the faint of heart

Hahaha, definitely can't be in silver if you're looking to get rich quick!

You're in my friend!

I like silver everything. I don't have any hand poured but I like the look of them just never came across one. Vikings are the shit because the do what they want and take what they want. Did I mention the beards and battle axes?

I think we should open a bar and call if "Beards and Battleaxes"! 🤣

You're in!

Like gold I prefer silver over Papermoney as a store of value because of it's intrinsic value and because can't be devaluated form any government or central bank. Silver stands for monetary and property freedom. "Scheingeld ist kein Geld" like the austrian Viking says ;-). Besides it can be used to create cool jewellery an accessoires. Big props to @stnwllstrtgc for this great contest. Upvote, Follow and Resteem.

For real!! yeahhh nice!!! Thx a lot!

Exactly! Its one of the oldest forms of value/money and now it plays a huge role in many electronics. I think the industrial uses are awesome, but I prefer it in the money or jewelry form!

This is a really cool piece, ive never seen anything like it. It is so great to see all of the support on the #silvergoldsteem tag, it seems like the generousity never stops around here! There is always some kind of giveaway going on and that is great! Such an awesome community, im so happy to be part of it now. I wish i could upvote u more than a crappy $0.01 but i dont have much weight yet :/ however i will send a few resteem services ur way to help get the word out!
I am into the viking show right now so this would be a cool piece to add to my small collection :)

hi my best friend, I need to grow faster and i need your support by sending more members from your friends if you can and if you like to join me by sending the fees more number of clinets to my manual bot.

what i mean, i need another 10 clients on tonight to upvote them to increase my power, the fees still the same, 0.02.

please can you support me by your posts or by sending more posts fees to me or by spreading the news to your friends...

thank you boss

Hello friend. I always do my best to u support u, u have a great service it will just take time to grow. I will continue informing people about ur service and try to help u grow :) but I think it would be good for u to put out more promotional articles about ur service. People just dont know u exist, so u need to continue promoting your great service. U should do atleast 1 or 2 posts a week about your service if u want more clients and ur service to get bigger.
Hope this advice helps :)

thank you for your usual support , i will do , your advice is clear... cheers

Don't even sweat that upvote man! I appreciate it regardless!
I have been wanting to watch the show for awhile I just never have the time!

You're in!!

Thanks man! Yeah the show is really good. The first season is a little bit slow because of introducing everyone and laying all the ground work for the show, but it definitely makes up for it in the following seasons. A show well worth watching if u have time.

I like silver because it has been used as a store of value by humanity for over 2,000 years.

So true man, cryptocurrency is very cool, but shiny rocks have been used for a very long time and they're my favorite alternative to fiat "money"

You're in!

Nothing beats handmade items.

Its a personal touch that makes the difference and its one of a kind.

Just like coins that are limited in mintage this makes it more special.

Thanks for the contest and raising money for the community

.

Yup, very few things are truly better if mass produced!

Thanks Mate!

Aye, I love to Stack Silver when I can. Better if it had a pedigree or even a quaint story about it as the Lolita Privateer, the Bloody Raven. My Favorite is Hand poured Pirate silver created by the Silver Artisans of IG and YT. I feature a treasure map and upload a Artistic video interpretation of a select piece of handmade Pirate, or Pirate-ish silver. I see some Vikings as Pirate like folk, they may say Arrrh! with a accent but they also make it more a family affair.

Well should you win this little guy you may feel free to give it any story you see fit! Vikings and pirates do have a lot in common if you think about it!

You're in!

I like handmade things, and silver pours specifically because each one is just a tad different. A little imperfect.

Couldn't agreee more! With most bullion if there's imperfections or differences it might not be as desirable, with poured stuff it's usually the differences that make them desirable!

You're in!

I like that the Vikings are playing really solid overall this season. They have overcome losing both their starting QB and RB and still are tied for the 2nd best record in the NFL. That is what you meant by Vikings, right?!?

🤣🤣🤣🤣 hahahaha, I did not specify, so that definitely works!!!!

You're in!

I like that the Vikings just did what they wanted. They just did not give a f*&%. I have been trying to get my hands on some Viking Silver, thanks for this awesome opportunity!

*I hit the up vote, but am still pretty new here, how do you choose the power of your vote?

When you have over 400 SP I think you get a vote slider that determines what level your vote is. Not something us minnows need to worry about yet!

You're in buddy!

I think one of the reasons why vikings were so bad ass is their ability to travel the seas. For what they had, those guys got around!
If I won, this would be the start of my silver collection :)

Very true! With limited tools and a whole lot of grit they made their mark!

Check out the rest of the #steemsilvergold tag, theres just about always a silver giveaway of some sort or another!

Well being Canadian generally means your lineage can be traced back all over the place. My moms mom had some sort of Scandinavian connection connection and would go to Minot North Dakota every year for north americas largest Scanidavian festival. It is called Norsk Hostfest. Maybe all that plundering history will get me my first poured silver chunk...

Very cool! Sounds like I need to make a trip to ND to check out Norsk Hostfest!

You're in my friend!

I start my day with a glass of water filled in a silver tumbler. Thus the first thing I hold in the morning is some shiny silver and it makes my day brighter and healthier.

That's awesome! Where did you get a silver tumbler? I might have to add one to my wishlist last minute!

You're in!

Well, that was a gift.

What I like about SILVER is that I can hold it and just looking at it makes me think of money and I would love to have a closet full someday and give it all to my kids when they get older that is my dream to leave them a crap ton of silver and Bitcoin! Thanks for this opportunity to win this beautiful silver bar.

I hope to be able to pass both crypto and precious metals on to my kids/grandkids as well!

Collecting small 1oz Silver Coins since 2008. They have slowly added up to a few dollars. This year purchased a 2017 certified 1 strike silver coin. Knowing that Silver is always a store of value. It still has purchasing power and not ravaged by the effects of Inflation. While the current price has been down this year. There is only a fine amount left in the Earth to dig out. Silver is excellent in the use of many products like the Solar Industry Electronic and more. Eventually it will back to its true value and it is defiantly one of the nicest looking precious medals out there. You have been up voted and re-steemed.

I think the future is bright for silver!

Welcome to steemit.

and what do they mean when they say upvote 100%

Not something u need to worry about right now. As u grow in steemit u will eventually get a slider that can control the % of ur upvote because it gets to be so big that u dont want to give it all to one person. Some people (they are called whales on steemit) have upvotes worth hundreds of dollars, so they obviously dont want to upvote 100% of their vote all the time.
Lol, its all rather confusing..
Check out the page of @nairadaddy and @minnowsupport to get some help with stuff like this. Hang in there tho, i promise the community is amazing here once u get the hang of it :) ill try to point u in the right direction if i can as well..
