It's OK to NOT buy a bunch of plastic garbage today

I know it can be hard, the barrage is relentless, but I also know that I am not missing out on ANYTHING today by staying home and keeping my wallet closed.

It's that time of year again and I love it. As the weather gets colder and the daylight grows shorter it really does feel to me that my family grows closer both physically (around the fire to stay warm) and spiritually (surviving multiple games of Trivial Pursuit has to count for something).
So, as retailers ratchet up the Fear Of Missing Out, I am doing my best to tune it out and focus on what this time of year means to me (hint: it's not buying wildly overpriced stuff on "sale").

Today it seems apropos to show off my Silver Shield Consumerism 1 oz copper round as I give thanks for the loved ones I have and the experience of living.

Here is a cool description by the designer that I found on the Golden State Mint website

So if you are fortunate enough to be home from work today I hope you able to enjoy a long weekend with the people around you (maybe bust out that Trivial Pursuit game that's in the closet).

Keep the wallet closed for a day sounds good.

That round explains everything about the Black Friday spirit.

Yikes!
Skeletal Santa shackled by debt! 😭 🎅🏻 This is the perfect coin to show off today. Now I’m gonna just pop out to the shops for a little bit... 😂

I love trivial pursuit but no one will play with me. 😐

Since I always win. KAPOW!💥

Does this mean I am good at trivia or are my friends just dumb? 🤔 🤣😂😄🙃

I’m burning green today, but not by soending it!

😜👍

I didn't even realize it was Black Friday until this post, ha. Far better use of time to learn the local native medicinal plants and learn the languages my ancestors used -- slowly divorcing this system in all ways.

Very cool...
