Last Chance to Buy a Steem Silver Round

in steemsilvergold •  7 years ago

Do you like Steem? Do you have fond memories of talking with people on Steemit? Want to have a physical reminder of those awesome times? How about something that also is made of actual, real silver and has a cool-as-can-be design?

If you answered "yes" to any, all, or none of those questions, you should consider getting some 2018 Steem Silver Rounds. Seriously, check out this design!

For those of you who don't know @sevinwilson, he's an awesome guy, and the one heading up the sales of the Steem Silver Rounds this year.

Last Chance

Sevin just posted an article today saying that sales are a bit lower than expected and that they're going to make a decision soon of when to cut off sales. When that happens... no more changes unless someone wants to sell to you from the secondary market. The prices can be substantially higher, so if you're interested, check it out sooner than later. He's estimating maybe another week.

If you want more information, check out his post here https://steemit.com/steemsilvergold/@sevinwilson/another-steem-silver-round-update-mintage-number-decrease

Yes, you can pay with Steem! So if you've been hording some looking for a great use, this is a way to cash it out and get your hands on some actual silver rounds designed by the #steemsilvergold community.

Love the design, love silver and love Steem!

Sounds like the Steem Silver Rounds could be a good fit for you! :)

It is quite difficult to digest that will have to lower the supply but anyway this is what the conditon it and it also has very much related to the bearish trend of all over the crypto world.

Maybe if more branding and marketing is done, it would be helpful.

Yeah, it's a bummer that the supply is getting lowered, but that just means they will be more scare and thus more valuable. :) If you want in on it, there's still time.

Thank you for this posting!! This is the best way to spread the Steem Silver Round! Thanks for all of the support!

You're welcome! I like the SSG group, I think the Round's design is awesome, and I really really like silver... so it's a win, win, win! :)

Yeah it is a pretty tight knit group for sure!! The round is going to look incredible when it’s all said and done! And silver ain’t bad to stack! 😊

I've never thought of myself as an addict, but as soon as I started collecting silver (because of you guys) I have been waiting until that next fix. :D

"Is it silver time?"
"No, no money."
"How about now?
"Still no money."
"And how about..."
"FINE! It's not like we need to eat. Buy some silver!"

Ha ha, it's a dramatization, but still the concept is sound. ;)

This is what you were talking about before! I had a look; they're pretty cool. Did you get the $23 one? And I'm curious, how much steem did it cost or did you pay cash. I'm asking because I think I'd like one, but not sure to trust the "mail" here ;)

"Don't run with scissors" "Wear Sunscreen"...nice additions :)

Yes, this is it! I thought about getting the $70 one since I wasn't around last year to buy one from 2017, but I ended up getting the regular 2018 ones. I didn't get on it early enough to get one with a specific number. I'll be fine with whatever my number is though.

I got mine with my paypal. It was easier than cashing out Steem for it. Also, I had a little money saved and I wasn't ready to start offloading Steem/SBD. I want to keep that so I can continue powering up. I'm getting close to Minnow status and I'd really like to get there, so I decided against it. Previously the plan was to sell them at around $17 each, but some things fell through and they ended up being more expensive. If they had been cheaper, I might have bought more using Steem, but I'm still thrilled to be getting some. You could always mail it to one of your sons and have them hold onto it for you. I could understand not being comfortable with the mail system delivering silver. :)

Yeah, I tried to mix up the disclaimer a bit. Don't want it to get stale.

I know you're a "coin guy", hence your excitement in this coin. But on a more practical basis, do you think they will be worth something someday ? More than the weight in silver of course:)

They are very "pretty"...that's as girly as you'll ever see me get by the way :) and they are an awesome memento...a tribute to what this platform has become for many of us, but I am curious, on a practical level, what you think their future value will be? Do you think it will raise with the increase in steem value?

Add to your disclaimer something about not eating seeds in hot peppers. Little lesson a friend of mine learned today :)

I'm a budding coin enthusiast. I wouldn't say I'm an expert, but I'm trying to learn more. They will have a troy ounce of silver, so they'll be worth at least that. The value beyond the value of silver is in it's rarity. Since there will only be 1,500 (ish) of them made, the only way to get them after the presale is to buy them on the secondary market. That's why some of the guys have said that the 2017s have sold for 2-3 times the initial price on the secondary market. They're not easy to get. On the other hand, if Steem goes defunct and no one cares about Steem, there might not be any value on the Steem brand, and therefore it could sell at the price of a regular round (maybe around $1 above spot). It's hard to predict. I got some just because I am here now and want to have a tangible thing to remember it by. I'm also getting to the point where I want to branch out and buy other (sometimes more expensive) coins and rounds to keep things interesting. Yes, the Silver American Eagle is a great coin, but it's not interesting when that's the same thing you get over and over. Since I never quite save enough to get a tube of 20 of them, I end up looking for other things I can get. Wow, that's a long answer to a short question.

tl;dr It's possible that it continues to carry a premium.

Hey, I have to problem calling silver pretty. Shiny would also work. "I want it" is also applicable. I'd even be ok with going shopping for coins. ;)

I don't think the value of the round will correlate to the rise or fall of the price of Steem. If Steem were to go away, then the people who would understand the rounds's significance would decrease, but if it's kept in mint condition, there might be a collector who would pay the premium down the line. If Steem continues and interest in the cryptocurrency grows, the people who are interested in Steem and interested in silver will grow. There will be a higher likelihood that someone will pay extra to get one... especially since they will be in limited supply.

Yes, don't eat the seeds. Although, if you get used to the heat, you can eat the peppers whole. I'll have to tell you a story about that sometime.

Wow, that was a long answer haha, but I appreciate it. I can tell it's something you're definitely interested in, so that's why I asked. I'm going to assume it's not that important to me because when I first saw them, I wanted it...like a shiny object to a crow :), but today, it doesn't seem that necessary for me. I guess that what impulse buying is all about! They are really cool though, well cool and shiny!

haha If and when you ever make it here, you can tell me in person about your pepper story. Sounds like a good one!!

Yeah, I'm hooked on collecting it. I think I'm in too deep at this point to turn back. I'm already trying to figure out how little food I can eat so that I can buy more silver. Do you think that's something I should talk to someone about? Also, how much silver do you think that person would cost? Ha ha.

Yeah, it's not a great story, but it would get a small chuckle. It'd pass some time. Don't get it too hyped in your head. It will drive you mad. I've had people set their expectations very high on some of my stories. Fortunately, those were the ones that were excellent, so I still delivered. :D

Too late, and too late...you have a huge silver problem and that story is going to be the funniest story ever haha

Hmmm, I'm going to have to make this a fishing story so that I have license to exaggerate. That could make it funny enough. It will take me a while to come up with the correct embellishments. Get back to me in 6 months or so. It's supposed to be the funniest story ever, so I think that's reasonable. ;)

Supply might be lowered than expected huh. Suprising

Yeah, I was surprised as well. I would have thought that since last year's 1,500 sold out that this year would have increased demand. Things are just rebounding in the crypto space, so maybe people had their money tied up in other things.

I wondered how the silver rounds were doing since an earlier post talking about them (was that you, too?). Probably going to miss out on this opportunity. Hopefully, there will be more at a later time. I will however, promise to heed your disclaimer advice about scissors and sunscreen. Both very timely, I might add. :)

Yes, I have talked about them before. I think they're super cool and I'm looking forward to seeing them in-person.

If you want, you can buy them using Steem. The price is approximately 6 Steem, plus 2.5 Steem for shipping. So if you wanted two of them, it would be around 14.5 Steem. And you can have it shipped right to your house. Otherwise, there's another option where someone else will buy it and hold it for you. They'll ship it to you when you're ready. It's quite generous. I don't remember who it is, so I'd have to look if that's what you're looking to do.

There won't be a second minting of the 2018 rounds, but there should be a 2019 minting. You can also get them on the secondary market, but people normally charge a premium for those.

Yeah. Well, I'm expecting to be rolling in the STEEM by the end of the year, so 2019 sounds good. :)

Or is that basking in the STEEM? Perspiring in the STEEM? It's probably more like computing in the STEEM, isn't it? I don't know. Got to come up with something. :)

They do look super cool, and they combine two investments I would love to have.

Hey, how ever you want to interact with your Steem, I think that's up to you. Rolling should be fine.

I don't know if you should be perspiring Steem? I don't know how you would perspire in Steem. I think you should put your best people on this to figure out what the correct terminology is. Then write a post on it.

Cool, well next year will have a different design, but if you're good at designing things, maybe you can get in on that aspect of it too!

I've been known to design a logo here and there. I've also been known to get on guru.com and let someone else do it.

My best people. That means I have people, which is news to me. I'm aware that people who need people are the luckiest people in the world. Which apparently makes me now among the luckiest, because I need people in order to pick out the best so I can put them on this terminology deal.

Or, I could just do it myself. Yeah, that might be faster.

I hadn't heard of guru.com. I could use a line separator designed, but would they take Steem? :)

Yeah, you don't have a "me, myself, and I" working for you? Those guys help me out a LOT. Couldn't go anywhere without them.

You are a lucky man if you've got all that going on. I hadn't even thought of it that way. Ha ha. Either way. Keep an eye out in 9-10 months for the design contest!

Great post to get the word out @themanwithnoname! I have 20+ preordered...great opportunity to cash in on the higher price of Steem with some physical silver and also support the #ssg!

I've got some ordered as well. I'm stoked to get them. I don't have any with COA yet, so these will be my first. Enjoy your stack of them!

Thanks...I was lucky enough to get #100 and gifted it to my good buddy @goldmatters. The others will be tucked away haha!

Nice! That's a good pickup. I didn't have any from last year (as I wasn't on Steemit yet), so I just picked up random ones. That's nice of you to give #100 away. There are a lot of generous people in SSG.

Heh, nice!

Well, I looked at your profile and it seems that you've been posting the exact same comment on many articles. It's not bad to ask for help, but it needs to be done in a way that doesn't come across as spam. Normally you want to build a relationship with someone before asking them for help. I recommend finding a Discord group like MSP/PAL network and connect with the people there.

Other than that, just post quality, original content as you build your network.

Thanks for your advice

No problem, @inspiredgideon1. I know you so no offense taken. Thanks for helping them out.

Thanks.
