Doing my usual ebay, late night perusing I came across these little things.
Now I've never bought any fractional silver before but I liked the look of these and had never heard of them so I thought I'd take a closer look.
The seller was selling them as a 1oz job lot (X4) and had a "buy it now" option, which if you've seen my previous ebay purchases, is just how I like them....
Even better, he offered free p&p and had more than one item for sale. Its like the Holly trinity of eBay options!! Well I always find, these 3 things give me the best possibility of a discount.
So cheekily I offered to buy 2 lots of 4X 1/4 oz coins and with out a fuss my offers were accepted and now they are here 😀
Im very happy with them and the way they look. All measurements, weights and "magnet" test say silver, but since I have nothing similar to hold them against I can't compare to anything I have but I do think they are genuine silver rounds.
Im struggling to find more info about them on the Internet, like who sells them, are they part of a series, what are they worth..... Etc So if anyone can shed some like on these neat little rounds I'd greatly appreciate it.
I actually bought them as giveaway prizes and fundraising ideas, so whatch this space as 1 will be coming up for grabs soon
Not that common have seen a few youtube vids on these and I don't know too much but think they a restrike of the real old Lydian coins. Produced by the Lydian Mint in the United States. The Lydian Mint's signature Lydian Lion silver bullion coin celebrates what is widely considered to be the first true coin minted around 600 BC in Lydia, Asia Minor.

Cheers @roxdude. From what I've seen, like you said it's a copy of the first "purpose" coin ever made for use in 609bc.
Well they look nice enough and I only paid a pound or 2 over spot.

I never saw these rounds, but are nice coins. Noticed you bought them on ebay. I am always cautious to buy coins on ebay due to all the imposters who are circling around there.

I've used ebay a few times now. I've had 2 fake Canadian maples so far. Luckily ebay have always refunded me my money and the seller has never questioned it.
I hate sellers that do that and they hope to get one up on uneducated buyers. They should be banned from selling. I always test as best I can when my items arrive.

I have never seen them before, but they are really cool looking "quarters".
I would also like to know some more background about these rounds.
eBay is a really good place for finding unusual things sometimes.

That's what caught my eye. I've never seen them before. Hopefully they might be rare and I've got some good bargains.
