Progress

Hello All!

Progress with steemstars is coming along, I wont bore you with the particulars of why I haven't been making any announcements lately, but trust that just because I am quiet does not mean I am inactive on the project.

First off I would like to give a shout out to everyone that has signed up for iteration one of steemstars which is still live and active at https://steemstars.herokuapp.com/

Your guys support has helped me power through some of the harder times in the development of this application.

Here you can see the most recent working copy of the application, some changes have happened. I have moved to a new framework since iteration one, which I believe will result in a more robust application in the long run. My current working stack consists of:

Sails.JS (Node/IO) -- Server/Backend
MongoDB -- Database/Backend
Steemconnect -- Unimplemented as of yet, but will be used for user verification.
Steem/ADCPM -- Steem Queries
Backbone -- Realtime Handling
Cytoscape -- Game Instance Graphing

Iteration one enjoyed, in its first two months 39 sign ups. Which is honestly better then expected considering it is really just a viewer in its current form. Right now you can use it to sort of serendipitously interact and browse to your followers/follows by right clicking on anyone within your galaxy.

In the future I will start gradually spinning this galaxy into a playing field for the game in which you can establish settelments on other peoples planets, which depending on your diplomatic status with them (do they follow you/do you follow them?) will have different effect, your population on your home planet will grow gradually (based on real time) and obviously to establish settlements you will need to have enough population to do so.

That is all I have for now :)

Thank you for your time and attention.

Test

Thank you for building Steemstars. I've tried Steemstars with Firefox 51.0.1 (64-Bit), to give you a feedback. Here you are. Maybe you know, maybe not.

It doesn't work for me. First the registration doesn't went through. I had to claim for the confirmation email again. After I was registered my account setting doesn't work. No chance to finish it with password. So steemstars doesn't know, who I am and I don't know, what Steemstars is good for.

Additional Hints:

  1. The very first picture is nice but you should write a short sentence to any visitor of this site, what is awaiting him behind the registration wall.
  2. What is „Teem Tars“? Yes, this question came up very shortly too, during the trial of Steemstars. Not everyone is able to recognize the „S“.

I just wanted to be a tidy Steemer and made a test for you. Hope, it helped. Happy Steemin' @raymonjohnstone.

Cheers man, I appreciate it. However it isnt clear to me did you manage to actually get an account created?

Hi developer. Yes, of course. Your server made an account for me. After I demanded for the email-confirmation, only. Then it was sent by the server. But the account settings inside didn't work to the end. Not possible to store my steemit name.

When attempt to add your steem account to your profile you need to add your steemstars password at the bottom to confirm the changes, give it another try man it works.

AT THE BOTTOM. Good to know. Okay, I'll give it a try again. I'm pretty sure it works, somehow. There are 3 fields for password, on one screen. The upper one is filled by dots. This should be the active one. Because it is filled by dots. But when I confirm by filling in PW and Return, this first PW is not working either.

I guess, the other two PW–fields beneath are usually for a PW-reset. Now you encourage me, to confirm my changes by filling PW into the third PW–field to confirm the settings?

Hint:
You should seperate the function passwort–reset from the confirmation of the settings. To show password reset and common settings on one screen is confusing me by three pw-fields.

That is certainly a good note thank you for that and yes it could be more verbose. Iteration 2 of steemstars will remove some of this frustration as the account name will be your steem account name, but until I launch iteration two sorry guys :P gonna have to deal.

Million thanks
