Asia is the biggest continent on the surface of our planet Earth. It is 44, 579, 000square kilometer in total and contains the largest country in the world, Russia. Russia is so huge it’s about double the size of the second country on the country size list which is Canada and also takes about half the size of the Asian continent itself. The Russian country is shared between Asia and Europe but a massive landmass is located in the former continent (Asia) while majority of Russians are located in the latter(Europe).
Asia is home to prosperous nations like Japan and China, The world’s most populated country . Also making the continent the most populous in the world. China is also the world’s third largest country after Canada. The great continent is also home to the highest mountains of the world which includes Mount Everest, situated along the Himalayas in Nepal.

Also known as the Black Continent, Africa is the traditional home to the dark-skinned people of the world. It is scientifically the home to the human race as researches has it that human-life started from Africa, reason it is famously known as The Motherland. Explorations has it that fossils of ancient human forms have been found in places around the continent, like the australopilethecus discovered in Tanzania(country in Eastern Africa).
Africa is enriched with fascinating safaris, vegetation, historical landmarks and spots like the famous Giza structures in Egypt, located in North Africa. The continent has the most countries in the world (54 countries) and thousands of indigenous tribes. It’s the second largest continent in the world with the size of 30.37 million square kilometer, bigger than the sizes of the US, China and India put together.

The third largest continent in the world is the home of the great nations, United States and Canada. Both countries in the top 10 largest countries in the world. The continent is 24.71 million square kilometers in size and has plenty of islands up north stretching from Canada to the North Pole region. The temperature of the continent can range from freezing cold to blazing hot, unlike the African continent that maintains a warm weather all year round. The continent is home to the world famous city, New York (the Big Apple), and also other famous cities like Los Angeles (home to Hollywood) and the popular Miami Beach in Florida.
Studies of rocks discovered in ancient areas of North America have revealed that the oldest known pieces of the continents began to form nearly about 4 billion years ago, soon after the Earth itself was formed. Intriguing. This event was around the period the world still lived in the Pangaea form(all the continents were interconnected billions of years back, known as Pangaea, before Separation came in as evolution).

ANTARCTICA
Coming in 5th place in size, Antarctica, the ice continent. This continent is located at exactly the Frigid South Pole of the Earth. The continent is so cold it has no human inhabitants, only people who access the continent are mainly scientists and explorers. Although the absence of humans, the continent is home to animals that can survive extremely cold temperatures like the Penguins and seals. The continent reaches very extreme temperatures it barely snows, making it an ice desert. And the continent is covered wholly in permafrost. The continent was discovered by James Cook in 1773. The continent is researched to be 14million square kilometers in size and also about twice the size of Europe.

The home of the well-known United Kingdom, the explorers and colonizers of the Earth comes in 6th place. It is about 10.18million square kilometers in size as recorded and shares major boundary to Asia, sharing countries like Russia and Turkey. The third most populated continent in the world is located entirely in the Northern Hemisphere. The most interesting fact about the continent is that it’s the birthplace of Western civilization, thanks to Europe we are where we are today, technology-wise, civilization-wise, Peace-wise, and religions that support good and peaceful livings originated from here. The United Kingdom is the home to Commonwealth nations around the world, headed by the Royal Crown of England. The temperature of the continent is temperate and cool all-year round, with a little freezing in the winter periods, but not as frigid as the North American continent during winters.
Temperatures would be dancing around 6 degrees Celsius in Paris, Europe at the same time fluctuating from -10 to -30 in Manitoba, North America in late December.
The continent boast of the richest cities on the the surface of the Earth which include Luxembourg, Paris, Rome, London and plenty more.

And finally, the smallest continent on the Earth’s surface is wholly a country itself, with an island, New Zealand and also an island connection to Asia which is Papau Guinea. The continent/country is vast with a hot desert and large mass of waste land. The most population of the country is situated at the coasts of the continent, reason it’s major cities (Sydney,Brisbane,Melbourne, Perth) are coastal. It is home to the unique kangaroos and the cute koala bears. Basically because of wholly being an island continent and country, Australia is not considered to be the largest island in the world, the glory is rather given to Greenland which is a little over 2million square kilometers. Australia is 7.692 million square kilometers in size.
