Hi my beautiful and handsome friends. It is I sparklez bringing to you another fictional true life experience...Lol. Well, this time, I had a very long conversation with this lovely snail who I call SnailDrezzy…funny right? Yeah! Some might say I am now Doctor Doolittle, or someone who communicates with animals…

Before I proceed, let me tell you a little about a snail. According to Wikipedia, the name "snail" can also be the members of the molluscan class Gastropoda that has coiled shell and large enough for the animal to retract into it completely. When we use the word "snail" in most general sense, it includes not just land snails but also numerous species of seasnails and freshwater snails.

Snails are mostly known for their slow nature. they’re not the fastest animal on Earth. There may be as many 150,000 species of gastropods, and they live in almost all habitats, from deep ocean trenches to deserts.

There are several types of snail species, but that’s not what we will be talking about now.

Have you ever wondered how snails mate, do they get pregnant? Do they have to climb each other like other animals do, I have even wondered myself maybe snails use their antenna as their private part…hmmm! I really wondered. This was part of what me and SnailDrezzy talked about and the thing you should know about this creature is that most are hermaphrodites. Hermaphrodite are organism that has both the male and female reproductive system and therefore can produce both spermatozoa and eggs. Most of the snails can be male and female at the same time. Some of these snails, shoot “love darts” at their crush, containing mucus that increases the chances of their sperm surviving (snails are hermaphrodites, and both individuals receive sperm during mating) according to McGill University’s Ron Chase

When snails want to mate, they recognize chemicals in the air, communicating that other snail is nearby. I believe that is what SnailDrezzy was looking for when I found him. When the bond is accomplished, they get closer and interact with each other in a physical manner with the help of their tentacles and before mating, some use a unique weapon so now they throw this love darts, not like wasting it but with the intention of making contact with each other. Because of how slow the snail is, it is known to symbolize laziness

Morals Learnt

  • Be Determined: As I watched the snail, there is nothing stopping it from getting to where it needs to be. He keeps going even when it bumps into a wall or a glass, he climbs. When it faces something bigger, he enters its shell for some time and comes out later. The snail never gives up for anything.
  • Humble Yourself: No matter how big a snail is and how slow, he deals with circumstances around it. The snail gets pushed, used as a ping pong, play with its tentacles, or even remove what he was going to eat, the snail does not allow those things to hinder it, he humbles himself, and take things the way they are.
  • Be Patience: The snail does not seem to worry about how many obstacles on its way before getting to its destination or food, he does not care about the nature of the obstacles, he keeps going until he finds his way to his goal, no matter how long it takes.
  • Relax: The snail always knew when to stop and relax. Sometimes, we as humans need to learn how and when to stop and take a break, we tend to push ourselves beyond until we exceed our breakpoint and end up not enjoying what we have labored for.

In Conclusion, looking at the life of a snail and my friend SnailDrezzy, no matter how little a thing is or how slow, there are still lesson to be learnt from them. The snail might be the slowest and sluggish, but they still have their advantages. So I hope we learn from the conversation and put things right in our life. I think SnailDrezzy is introducing me to his family soon, for being a good friend…Lol.
