This was once the site of Jay’s Longhorn Bar, THE place to see punk and New Wave bands in the late 70’s and early 80’s. I saw Iggy Pop sing part of a set while squatting inside an upturned metal garbage can. Saw the Suicide Commados there dozens of times, The Suburbs, Hüsker Dü, The Replacements. The Clash, Buzzcocks, Talking Heads, Gang of Four, Elvis Costello, the Ramones — all played here. Now relegated to serving as storage space for the local power company.
