I don't know about you, but I'm tired of hearing about how cryptocurrency is going to take over the world. It's not. And it's not going to make us rich or save us from an economic depression or even help us get rid of our debt.
The truth is, in most cases, cryptocurrency doesn't even do what it says on the tin. One thing it can do is buy you a cup of coffee, but that's about it. And while we're at it: None of those things are true either.
Here's why: Crypto transactions have fees that can be as high as 5 percent and sometimes higher. That means a $50 transaction could cost you $5, and then there are transaction fees when you send money back out again — which is often required if you want to make a purchase with crypto rather than PayPal or credit card (which can also be expensive).
