Charity Drive to San Damiano Boys hostel, Kiulu

It’s known that while families and friends everywhere celebrate birthdays, Christmass or any special occasions, we shouldn’t forget those that are less fortunate than us.

Fundraising

Fundraising is the lifeblood of orphans, under priviledged and less unfortunate children in need, without it those taking them under their wings wouldn’t be able to continue delivering support to these children.

It takes an extraordinary people who want to do something, not just talk about it, to make our fundraising a success. There are many ways to raise money and have fun doing it!

With this in mind, Sabahan Steemit Community initiated a charity drive to San Damiano, organised by @veenang @beverlyjoe and @chanelcalestus not forgetting @danieldoughty and his lovely wife @viverridae who dedicated their hours to support this charity drive for San Damiano boys hostel, Kiulu.

Teaching My Girl to Learn Compassion

Charity start from home and with this in mind, I've been thinking about how to instill this kind characteristic to my daughter @celo769, the process of learning about life.

"When action meets compassion, lives change."

So I am taking this opportunity and spend it helping my daughter to understand the need there is in this world and help her to see that they can act with their hearts of compassion. By exposing her to these type of activities, I hope it will open her eyes and get to know these kids who has a more complicated life than she is.

Conclusion

Overall, it was a successful and fruitful day. There are so many ways we can be a major change-maker in these boy’s lives. Although we’re not there during meal time or when they are getting ready for school, we can be assured their smile never leaves their faces.
