As a teacher of a Kindegarten wants to share some tips to choose it.

How to choose a kindergarten?? It is the question that many parents make when approaching the period of pre-registration for children's schools or raised the return to work.

To have the guarantee that we leave our children in good hands, the first requirement is that the daycareyou choose is under municipal control or the Ministry of education of our autonomous region.

If it isn't, we can be with surprises: scarce and staff unqualified, overcrowded classrooms, meals without health controls, menus that do not meet the nutritional needs of children, lack of hygiene, hazardous installations for children of this age.

• Notice: we can not trust centres in which are mixed children of different ages

Have an educational project

• Early childhood education (from 0 to 6 years) is the first educational step. The idea of the nursery as a «aparcaninos» has been banished.

• We must choose centers that have an education plan that enhances the capabilities of the children from the earliest ages and not mere assistance approaches.

The nursery must have good and safe facilities

• The building of the school must be with few plants and easy to access.

• The outdoor patio should be of exclusive use of infant school (not shared with children of upper stages) and fully fenced. Its size should not be less than 75 m² and must have of elements of play safe, sandy areas and spaces shaded.

• It is important that you have a interior room (30 m² minimum) for different activities: from recess on rainy days to psychomotor activityclasses, fiestas of the cole or lectures for the parents of the students.

• The school has to have all the necessary security measures: plugs protected switches light away from the hands of children, stops at the gates to avoid that they can catch your fingers, etc.
• The classroom must have natural light and ventilation.

• The first cycle classes (0 -3 years) should have a minimum area of 2 square metres per child.

• It must have paragraph dream space and toilets adapted to the size of the children of the playground.

Infant school staff and specialized services needed

• Staff serving children 0-3 years need to have certification of educator. For 3-6 years, have to be teachers with the specialty of childhood education.

• Each group of children must have their guardian's reference , although this count with the collaboration of other educators support.

• Many schools have Psycho-pedagogical teams of early attention. They tend to be made up of psychologists, educators, speech therapists, teachers and social workers. Orient the pedagogical work of the school and support the children with special educational needs, their educators and their families.

• The Centre should have possibility of extended hours (i.e. make sure that conform to our labor needs) and own kitchen (tends to be better than an external catering).

• Before deciding we should visit the school chosen to avoid unpleasant surprises . By very well you neighbors or friends who bring their children, have talked about it our information should be firsthand.

• For fear of appearing heavy, leave to ask many things that trouble us: Where sleep the siesta?, who cares for them in the courtyard?, will change les clothing if they get stained?... It is good to write down all the doubts that assaulted us, so arriving at the nursery don't forget we ask nothing.

• Is fundamental to give maximum information about our small. Thus, when start to go already know him and know his habits and preferences: sleeping with pacifier NAP, does not like the paps because he loves chew... All this is done in an interview with your educator before beginning the course.

• Although we think that no one will care better than us our son, you should go with spirit open from the first day. Must give a vote of confidence and do not think that we are Weirdos for being full of doubts and fears: is normal at the beginning of schooling.
