#stewardsofgondor - Have you been spreading the Christmas cheer?

in stewardsofgondor •  7 years ago

@fulltimegeek, aka Lord of the Steems has delegated a butt-load of Steem Power to the following list of people.

He discusses openly and honestly why in this video

And summaries it with:

  • Curation is a lot of work
  • I'm trying to build long-term relationships
  • It's better to give than to receive
  • I like running reports
  • It prevents me from abusing my powers via flags
  • It's humbling and levels the playing field
  • Less pressure when I post

Christmas has indeed come early for these lucky 'Stewards', and this post includes a look at how the Stewards of Gondor have been keeping themselves busy over the past week.

@fulltimegeek has not defined any rules for his Stewards, but does keep a watchful eye from his tower.

And as 'giving is better than receiving', you would expect him to wish for his gifts to be payed forward by way of reaching thousands of posts and giving up-votes and kind messages.

Below is a table showing some of the key interactions performed by these stewards over the past 7 days. The columns (ordered alphabetically) in the table are as follows:

Steward: Steem Username
Posts: Number of Top level posts in the past 7 days
Comments: Number of comments made in the past 7 days
Com_len: Total character length of all comments (excluding posts)
Wit_v: Number of Witnesses voted for
Votes: Total number of votes made in the past 7 days
Unique_v: Total number of votes made to different authors in the past 7 days
Self_v: Number of self-votes made in the past 7 days
Down_v: Number of down-votes made in the past 7 days

This week, the Stewards have written a total of 7645 comments and cast 22835 up-votes. Last week these totals were 5371 and 15837 respectively, so a nice improvement there it seems!

Star Stewards

@cecicastor, @greenrun, and @cranium, all topping both 500 comments for the past 7 days - hail keyboards!

@taskmaster4450, who has written comments totaling a humongous 128,915 characters - amazing!

@cecicastor, @stackin, @coolguy123, @crimsonclad, @kubbyelizabeth, and one of the new Stewards @hitmeasap, all handing out over 1000 votes this past week - up-vote legends!

@coolguy123 - Master steward of goodwill to all (again!) with over 800 unique Steemians reached with his votes - spread em'!

So Stewards, how do you think you've done this week?

Have you changed strategy?

Have you been tempted to self-vote more 'cause SBDs have gone bananas?!

Budding Stewards - Do you think you've got what it takes?

Would the numbers speak kindly of you?

Millions of thanks once again to the one and only @fulltimegeek - Steemit legend, and Lord of the Steem.

Cheers all!

I have been super busy spreading the Stewards of Gondor love!

I have been embracing steemians and every Sunday I pick one consistent steemian who posts quality content every day and I UPvote at 1-100% once a day for seven days.

I also am doing a seven days of Secret Santa where I pick one homesteader and give a gift.
YOU'VE been Secret Santa'd TODAY! Please check your wallet for a Secret Santa Gift!

In my regular Tuesday post called Holler Out I have been recognizing one featured person in the post and have offered up support of steem to them.

I love @goldendawne she’s has helped me tremendously and totally walks the talk. I thank you as well @abh12345 for breaking down how to give an dwhat it takes. For a new person it’s these written posts with forthright explanations that have helped the learning process and how to do things right. It’s not all about the money but understanding how to do this so everyone wins is important. Much thanks and happy holidays!

Thank you @eaglespirit!!!
I'm ecstatic that I've been able to help you,.. and others!

Wow what a job this is, being a steward! You all must be part robot. LOL! Amazing. xx

This is an excellent idea @goldendawne, what a fine job you are doing as a steward!

Thank you very much for my secret santa gift too - how kind!

Merry Christmas to you :D

Thank you!
And yes.. you just got Secret Santa'd!!!

I have been waiting for an update from @fulltimegeek and I LOVE how you do these updates too!
I can appreciate seeing all of our stats in one place!

Have a Merry Christmas too!

I'm very glad they are appreciated!

FTG must be busy with Christmas and his new place so glad to provide this service in his absence.

Thank you for my treat, I hope it come back to ya 10 x over! :D

I figured he was super busy with everything especially after just getting over being sick recently.

Yes... I am a black & white/concrete thinking... see the stats kind of person so these updates are WONDERFUL!

Great, then I will definitely continue with them! :)

Hello @abh12345,

Thanks for sharing yet another week's details of analysis to asses ourselves for the last week's performance.

Yes, indeed @fulltimegeek has showered us with early Christmas gifts via the delegation. Thanks a ton to him.

These reports from you and @fulltimegeek lets us to know our performance and improvement areas so as to utilize the delegation in more better way.

This week as for as me concerned, is in terms of reaching more unique Steemians and I have tried to reach more of newcomers so as my little upvote will give them something to start with on Steemit.

Also, I have tried to verify each of the posts by checking the details for copy paste contents, I think that was one of the points as part of last week's findings by littleguy.

All in all, a better performance over the last week.

Congratulations to all for their performance and Merry Christmas in advance to you and all the people.

With a note to achieve more heights in the coming week, I would like to sign off.

littleguy :) that made me smile even though I think you got the username incorrect by accident.

Personally I think you are doing an excellent job, and should not worry about the odd stray 2% vote.

I think the Stewards need to work as a team, and so to be 'called out' like that wasn't very team-player like from @littleboy. Also, I didn't feel there was a need to self-vote his comment 'for visibility', as I know FTG reads his replies. This vote equated to 150 times more powerful than your 'mislaid' vote...

Great stuff @coolguy123, have a good Christmas!

My bad I misspelled that.
Thanks for confirming about my performance and for the wishes.
I will always be a team player.
Have a great day :)

Hey @abh12345! Great summary and stats... It's an honour being part of the Stewards of Gondor!

Decided two weeks ago not to self-vote any more. Going to make a post about the benefits of this going forward! Basically I believe the Steem blockchain is designed by @dan to emulate a gift economy on a grand scale which means the more you give/contribute the better for you and for everyone else!

If any Stewards want to connect I have set up at Discord channel, welcome aboard! :)

thealliancereko

Good man!

Yes, I've written a couple of gift economy pieces this year and am in agreement with you for sure!

You could use small votes to nudge your nice comments up newcomers blogs, ahead of all the spam even if you don't wish to vote your own stuff. That's what i've done a couple of times this past week.

Cheers!

Yeh true upvoting comments definitely has a place out for now I'm 100% no self-vote... best way not to slip ;)

Fair enough, merry Christmas to you! :)

u2 bro! :D

Thanks for sharing @abh12345. It's great to be one of the #stewardsofgondor and I am satisfied with my results.

Have you changed strategy?

No, I have not changed strategy. I have done everything just like I did prior to the delegation from @fulltimegeek. However, I am trying to come up with a slightly different approach so that I can comment more on other authors articles.

  • Time is my biggest obstacle here.

Have you been tempted to self-vote more 'cause SBDs have gone bananas?!

Yes and no. I would obviously love to upvote everything I do because it would generate tons of money... But I am not active on Steemit, doing the things I do for the money as much as I work for the community. Which is why I rarely (almost never) upvote my own comments.

That's really good to hear man.

You've been voting a lot this past week, spreading the vote power is good in my opinion.

When you've started out with nothing, and 10 cents was a nice vote, then giving 20-30 cents at a time right now is mega sweet.

Have a good Xmas!

Yep, I had a super productive week curating ;)

You certainly did, is that 2nd in the 'comment character length total' I see? nice!

I find it incredible that people can manage to post so many comments. I spend hours looking for good, original content and always try to make a comment which demonstrates that I've actually read/watched it, but it's not easy to find posts that are worthy.

Unless the comments are made in a lengthy conversation chain on a single post (which I sometimes do)... but that would defeat the purpose of this initiative.

Well i must admit, I do spend a lot of time here at present which is mainly why I have a fair number of comments and a reasonable character length total.

A number of my comments on my own posts will be short 'thank you' notes, and i generally save the longer replies for the blogs of others.

Welcoming people onto the platform is something I'm also trying to do, but i don't feel you need to spill your heart out to them - not until you know they are sticking around I guess.

Thanks for the reply :)

I haven't examined it too closely, but would it be fair to say that the people who don't stick around typically tried to use Steemit like Facebook and found that it actually wasn't the same?

Yes that would be a fair assessment. And also, unless you are lucky/unique/know someone 'big', then it is a lot of time and effort to build up a following. Those who have stuck it out for a year or so though, are looking forward to a grand Christmas.

It’s going to take a bit more work than that for me. I want to engage with people who are interested in discussing problems that face society at a macro level, but there are currently only a handful of people who are producing that kind of content on Steemit. I’m going to have to motivate people to join the platform.

This is really noble of @fulltimgeek, help the community.

Big ups to you @fulltimegeek. But i have not yet felt any of your stewards yet. Hahaha!! Just joking.

It is indeed. And sorry about this @yaanivapeji - I hope you'll get a visit soon!

Thank you @abh12345

That's a great table and stats. Thanks so much for posting them. I'm so thankful to be one of the Stewards. It's definitely hard work learning to curate on a higher level and these stats really help. This steward was struck down by the stomach flu so my commenting was down. Thankfully I'm getting better at keeping my VP up so I can continue to give good votes without having to stop for days to recharge. It boggles my mind the work the top stewards do! Giving good comments alone takes so much time.

Hi @marxrab, I totally agree with your comment about the time it takes to write comments.

Reaching unique authors and reading their content, checking the originality of each of those contents itself will be much time consuming.

So, definitely the guys who have written lengthy and more comments should get much appreciation.

My pleasure :D

Yes some of the numbers are fantastic. I'm sure the visibility of everything helps with this and I think many Stewards are going beyond the call of duty here!

Lots of comments in a row, I can't do that. This is so hard to do that and I solute them all. And at the same time a special salute is for you dear @abh12345 for your deep research and hard work. I'm so blessed that you're here with us. Keep it up and share more informative stuff for the betterment of community. All the best and Stay Blessed!

Thank you very much for your kind words @jawad09!

This is great.
I observed that you performed excellently well on the stat report. More grease to your elbow. keep moving this community forward

Thank you very much kind sir. I think many Stewards are excelling!

I know pretty sure that it required a lot of commitment for you guys not to keep your voting power at 100% as spell out by @fulltimegeek. But what of if you are in an environment where network will not just allow you to access internet. You guys are just doing a great job towards keeping this community growing

Thanks man :)

I didn't hear we had to keep at 100%, but i think 80% or above is best.

Merry Christmas!

Woohoo hit 1k votes :)

Well done you!!

Wow
Great statistics there
These stewards are doing great
Thanks to @fulltimegeek for the delegations to these stewards

Cheers Sami!

Yes, I'm still shocked I was on that list! Thanks @fulltimegeek :)

Those are some impressive numbers! 50+ comments per day. Every day!

Plenty of time on my hands at present - Enough for a blog or two and a bunch of commenting.

Next year everyones hard work here will pay off I am sure :)

Wonderful publication Greetings Distinctive analysis

Thank you for making such a huge piece of robots. I gladly shared it with them. Resteem. After reading this article, I realized how thoughtful the decision was the delegation of its voice power @fulltimegeek. If everything is abstracted, Lord of the Steems was able to make in a week 7645 comments and cast 22835 up-votes. Here is a wise one - Lord of the Steems.
Good luck to you and good

Thank you, you too!

Seems like there are some stats missing in the chart @abh12345?

which ones? I see them all, i think!?

Screenshot from 2017-12-19 23-46-23.png

hmm, check it out in night mode? I see them all?!!

hmm weird, Firefox cuts the chart but see it all in Chrome...might be some extension I dunno

phew!

Image is here too for those who don't want to download chrome, just save this to desktop!
