Why The Truth Can't Be Told Without Lies

Data that isn’t immediately useful only spreads through societies if it tells a story. All stories are oversimplifications; no story ever tells the whole story. Thus, a paradox: facts have little chance of permeating civilisations unless they are first dressed up in fiction.
