Athena- The wisest of all Goddesses.
Athena Through My Eyes- Monologue
I was a grown woman when I was born. In full armour I stepped out of my father’s forehead with all the wisdom that one would only dream of. I’m sure you will know my father, everyone does. His name is Zeus and he is the God of all Gods. I’m his favourite, and I am the only one that he seems to take any kind of advice from…well…apart from his wife, Hera, who rules our kingdom with her wicked ways. I don’t have a mother, I didn’t need to be conceived.
Strange that I suppose…
Zeus was a bit of a useless parent really. Being born with all this power meant I didn’t need him. That is probably why I am so independent and willful. Over the centuries I have seen many deities and mortals struggle with their independence and live a life of dependency on others. Not me. I have myself and I am content with that.
I have never married, nor have I bared any children and I have no intention of doing so either.
Of course I do like the odd bit of company.............if you know what I mean.
