Storj SIP 6 - More Performance for Clients 📈

My view

I think this is a scary moment for many that did not know about the SIP, since now you are faced with not having shares and, in addition, requiring them to be highly available and with good response times. And more! On top of it, you also need to compete with all the other users in the world / geo-collocated (depending on the client requesting/pushing the data).

New protocol (1.2.0)

You should update your binaries if you are not at the latest protocol version. It also avoids you having problems with things that were already solved.

How to check your nodeID Response Time (RT) and Timeout Rate (TR)?

• Windows: Just open your browser and browse for
  "http://api.storj.io/contacts/<insert_your_nodeID_here>"
• Linux: Use "curl" command for example to get the output, like this,
  curl http://api.storj.io/contacts/<insert_your_nodeID_here>

What should I do now, while development continues?

Don't panic essentially! If you were one of those people that bought hardware to support this cause... stand firm!

About your nodes... if you don't see offers showing up or space getting occupied as before, that's now normal. The selection of nodes from the bridge changed. And all to improve client performance (I was not getting that BLASTING performance when uploading/downloading from storj nodes).
