The sky churned
It became dark and worried
Humans scurried for the subway
I went in the opposite direction
As the wind blew hard
The first rain hit
Then lightning split the sky
And thunder rumbled in response
A prelude to the deluge
This was my limit
Rain check on that rendezvous
But the call rang out urgent
seconds before I absconded
