I've been on multiple social-media platforms for a few years, and I've noticed a consistent theme. In many instances, I'll gain some rabid supporters, which is great...until I say something disagreeable to their perspectives.
Usually, but not always, this results in the end of the relationship.
This behavior is completely fine, but it also possibly indicates some measure of psychosis, and definitely the complete loss of social inhibitions or decorum in social media.
My friendly suggestion is this: stop trying and expecting perfect consensus with anyone!
It's just not going to happen, and therefore, it's not worth the stress trying to look for it!
Not only that, we never expect it in the real world:
- Do we expect perfect friends?
- Do we expect perfect spouses?
- Do we expect perfect working conditions?
In all things, the answer is a resounding no.
So to expect perfection in perhaps the most imperfect platform of social media is completely unrealistic. And if persisted in this "unrealism," it's a sign of delusion!
Agreed - relationships are all about compromise.
In today's society, it seems that everyone wants a zero sum outcome but it does not have to play out that way.
We as humans are capable of negotiating towards something that benefits all of us.

The best approach is to stray neutral and sometimes not start a long battle of words.
