One marketing agency from Louisville, Kentucky, has recently come up with a new and creative way to try and get people to venture out of their comfort zone and interact with others in their community.
On every one of those note cards is a certain task that the individual is asked to complete and this might include interacting with strangers and likely trying something new.
The machine is free to use...
Those behind the machine suggest that it's a challenge which calls on you to be brave enough to accept a mysterious prompt, despite there being no tangible reward.
Even though there being no tangible reward, that doesn't mean however that there cannot be a great deal of satisfaction that is reaped as a result of completing the task. Those behind the project have insisted that the reward, in this sense, is going to be great.
Ultimately, those who use the machine are going to engage in an experience that will prompt them to go outside of their comfort zone, to try something new that they might never have considered before, and to get uncomfortable in the process.
If you grab a card from the machine it might ask you to complete such a task as singing a song in public or making a call to a friend you haven't spoken to in a long time. Those who take a card are also encouraged to record themselves completing the task and then share the content under the tag DoSomethingMachine across social media.
The machine is expected to be located at the UofL Student Activities Center until Oct 22nd.
Some people might be looking for an excuse to engage in something new and this machine offers them an avenue to try and experience an activity that is outside of their usual comfort zone.
Trying new activities in life, such as the various suggestions that might be listed on the card from this machine, could come with a variety of benefits.
Previous research has shown that venturing out to try something new can help you to grown and learn new things, find more joy in life, and might ultimately help to offer you a greater sense of purpose and self. For many, they might feel like they don't need a machine to prompt them to do this, for others though it might be an easy excuse to do something that they otherwise might be too afraid to try.

Loneliness affects a lot of people. This is good to encourage people to interact more with others.

That's a really cool idea. I hope it expands beyond just the one locale.

That is a cool idea that I had not heard of before. Life is funny in that you just never know what might come of trying one of those cards.

What a cool concept! In this modern age so many people tend to be self involved and not interact enough with actual people.

@doitvoluntarily This news may be insignificant, however it can be very useful especially for people who suffer from extreme shyness or do not leave their homes, there are more and more cases of this type and often lead young people to take measures extreme.
Thank you very much for sharing this information
I wish you a great day
