The Elven Bard - Korvyne, the Gnome Rogue - Part 1

Korvyne could barely contain his excitement. He bounced through the grass as they left Gnomefel behind. At last, he’d have a life full of adventure, much more interesting than his stupid studies back home.

His companion frowned at him from beneath his dark hood.

The gnome wilted. Right. They had to be quiet. He stopped bouncing and took each step with care. See, he could be stealthy. The Shadowed Hands would be pleased.

The Shadowed Hands! He still couldn’t believe it. The elusive group actually wanted him, Korvyne, to join them. At last, his knowledge of alchemy was actually worth something—and something more excited than a bunch of dusty books and annoying tests.

He glanced over to see if his newfound stealth impressed his companion. However, the hooded figure remained silent and expressionless.

Korvyne didn’t even know the name of the man who came from the Shadowed Hands to escort him. From the glimpses he caught beneath the hood, he thought it was a Frey Elf, but he wasn’t positive. Whoever he was, he barely spoke. Still, soon they’d be friends, close comrades who would go on adventures together for the Shadowed Hands!

They walked in silence throughout the night....
