Hi Guys! I would love to share a wonderful story about the difference between good customer service and outstanding customer service...
If you don't know me what I suppose, I travel around the world and record high-quality sounds and for this task, I am always looking for good audio equipment.
My website called FreeToUseSounds and I publish most of my sounds on the page but I also record sounds for different libraries, sound designer, filmmakers, music makers or video game developers.
I can't travel with a huge amount of equipment and need to keep the weight down.
One of my friends told me to get the DPA 4060 what are amazing little microphones and perfect for certain field recordings and interviews for example.
By the time, I was looking into these mics, I was in Vietnam and shipping 1000 US Dollar mics to Vietnam would end up with 1500 US Dollar or more because of the high import tax.
I contacted the distributor of DPA in Hong Kong and I asked him what can we do?
I knew I will be in Singapore on a short layover so he advised me to the distributor in Singapore!
After getting in contact with Ho and DPA, DPA manufactured the mics in Denmark and shipped them to his address in Singapore.
Rycote, what is another great company sent me the wind protection from Great Britain to his address as well so that I have everything in one pack.
My plane is going to land in Singapore at 1 AM in the night and the connecting flight to Bali is at 7 AM in the morning.
So that means I would need one night and day in Singapore to get these mics right?
Paying for a hotel and picking up the equipment during office hours.
That would be the normal case but Ho from DPA came at 1 AM at night to the airport and waited for me.
I got out of the airport, he gave me the mics, the Rycote windjammers and I went back into the airport!
This my friends is an outstanding customer service and now I have these amazing mics for new recordings that I also publish for free on @DSound!
