Some thoughts about the essence of the philosophy of history /part 2/

On the contrary, every historian tries to explain the events, processes, periods he has studied. trying to reveal their logic. But these explanations, respectively, of this historical logic are of a more private nature. They are explanations of something specific and somewhat singular, which is localized in time and space, and not an explanation of the general, of the historical life of people in general, of its origin, development and prospects.

Second, the philosophy of history is distinguished from history and in that it works with so-called secondary texts ie. the finished historical works of historians who are trying to make sense. While the story works with the so-called primary texts known as sources or sources of historical knowledge, such as chronology, papers, memoirs, etc.Thirdly, the difference between the philosophy of history and history is that the philosophy of history explores, besides the historical life of people, something else that historians do not deal with, namely, the writings or narratives about this life, and more specifically the possibility and the ways for its reconstruction and knowledge from history.

Object of the Philosophy of History. In order to determine the subject of the Philosophy of History perhaps one should come out of a more general definition of Hegel for the subject of philosophy at large. For Hegel's philosophy is nothing else but thinking the thinking and as far as him thinking and being consistent, very definition it can be transformed into thinking the definition of existence or thinking things. When, in place of these indefinitely defined things, something more specifically or definitely defined then, from that general definition of Hegel, all other, more private, philosophical disciplines arise. Let's say if religion is put in place, then the discipline philosophy of religion, the subject of which would be thinking of religion, ie, arises. an attempt to rationalize it. Similarly, the Philosophy of History also stands. When we put history in place of things, then a philosophical discipline arises, such as the Philosophy of History that Hegel itself defines as a thought on history, or an attempt at its thinking.

But as the term "history" is used to mean two groups of facts: on the one hand, it refers to the real life of the people in its movement and change over time; history as being; on the other hand, this term means what is written or told / narrated about the objective history of the people, ie. history as a science, narrative, narrative, or knowledge. For this reason, thinking and reflection on the story (Hegel) is divided into: thinking or understanding the real historical life of people.
