Such a young and curious soul. Left on side of the road where people leave their trash. Unlike many others this one was lucky to get adopted by a traveler with a big heart.

It have by far been the hardest part of travelling through Albania and Greece, to see so many homeless scared dogs on side of the road just sitting there, tails between their legs, with such a hopeless look in their eyes.

I wish they had the energy to at least bark or chase me for the fun of it, just to show some sign of life energy, but there's nothing left in them. You can see their live lust went away the moment they realized that their family were not gonna come back and get them.

The voice of a dying animal

Once cycling in the dark evening I heard a bark so weak and dreadful i had to stop and look for him. When I found him I tried to give him both water and food, but he just kept hiding behind the bunkers of trash that he now called his home. I wanted to help him but even after 20minutes of trying he never dared to approach me. From time to time made a bark like no other... I have never heard the voice of a dying animal before. But when hearing this... Sound? Something in me knew this dog had not long to go before he could close his eyes for a better place. I almost started to beg him to come to me, I don't know what I could do to make it better for this poor soul but i just wanted to show him some sign of compassion. In the end I gave up and left the food and water behind. While I biked away I could again here the weak and scared dog crying for desperation, giving me tears in my eyes and chills down my spine.

The meeting with this young dog made me feel so deeply happy, yet I felt so sick in my stomach thinking back on the hundreds of others that have not been this lucky.
