The ability to understand the minds of others
Birbal is not a fictional, historical character. Emperor Akbar and Birbal were the soul of Harihar. Again, it is not that there has never been a disagreement between the two on some issues. Done. But he is only temporary. Because, Birbal was an inevitable advisor to Emperor Akbar in running the kingdom.
King Akbar one day asked the members of his court in his court room, "What is on everyone's mind now, what can be said for anyone?"
The members of the court began to think with their hands on their cheeks, what everyone else was thinking. This is a big difficult question! Unable to find an answer, they accepted the rate. Even if the opportunity to get such a big prize reaches them, they are helpless. No one could guess the minds of others.
Finally the king asked Birbal this question.
Rosik Churamani Birbal said, "As a result of the esoteric power of thought and feeling, I see that everyone's mind is now focused on one side."
‘What kind?’ Was the king’s surprise-mixed question.
Birbal said with a laugh, ‘Everyone is thinking now about the fame and glory you have gained. All of them now have the same wish — month after month, year after year, may your glory shine. May your glory be intact from the beginning to the end of your kingdom. '
The king looked around the meeting, the helpless courtiers could not deny this, because to do so would be an insult to the king. Birbal already knew what would be the state of mind of the members of the court in his words.
The king said, ‘Well, all right. Now tell me, Birbal, what is on my mind? '
‘One thousand more stamps, okay?’
‘Agree?’
"Jahampana, you are thinking of your revered ancestors, now you are praying to the Almighty with a holy mind, may your ancestors live in a happy paradise."
Although the king was not thinking about these things at all, he was compelled to say that Birbal had spoken exactly what was on his mind at that time. Denying Birbal's words will show the king's disrespect to his ancestors.
King Akbar was actually thinking of a consignment of newly designed shawls from Kashmir. But as promised, two thousand seals had to be given to Birbal.
