Raising a circus tent from scratch / Photo story

Today we're going to take you to a journey of raising a circus tent from the bottom to top. First, just a word about where and what this tent is: This is a tent from project Cirkobalkana. Quote from their page: "CIRKOBALKANA is a festival which serves as a platform for exchange, knowledge transfer and professionalization of young circus artists" (mostly in the area of Ex-Yu countries). The project consists from one Croatian and one Serbian association. Year 2017 was the fourth year of the project, but the first year that the Cirkobalkana crew had their own tent (they borrowed them for the first three years).

The raising of the tent took place in September 2017, and it took us from 11 am until 7 pm. Sooo, now we're putting a lot of photos with short explanation, so if you want to see how to put up a circus tent, do continue. :)

Well, we started with hammering these big metal pins into the ground:

And yes, some of them went into concrete (big Nikola hammering):

Then we had to unpack the trailer:

With the whole tent structure inside:

Assembling the metal construction:

And then lifting it up:

We pushed the trailer under the construction:

And started to unpack it and lift the top:

Then we spread the roof:

At this point, you can already come under the tent:
