A Dumb Story

Albert and Alberta McKay were excited. Alberta was three months pregnant with their first child, and they were discussing possible names for their child.
“…Okay,” mentioned Alberta. “We agree that we will name the child ‘George’ if it’s a boy; after George Lucas, George Bernard Shaw, George Gershwin, George Harrison, even George Elliot. Just not George Bush! What if it’s a girl?”
Albert thought. “How about ‘Alice?’” Alberta told her husband she liked that name. Albert was surprised.
“Alberta, we went through like, five names before agreeing on ‘George.’ You’re just gonna give in like that?”
Alberta reminded Albert that ‘Alice’ was her mother’s name. Then, Albert asked his wife if she could think of any other names.
Alberta was so angry she was resisting the urge to slap him across the face, but she did manage to hold her hand back.
In six months, Alberta gave birth to a baby girl whom they named “Alice.” Do not worry for them; they are both successful (and loathed) college professors, giving students knowledge they will probably never use.
