Even across different locations and departments, my nickname is "Shakespeare."
It's because every time I help audio people get their sound levels right, I recite something from Shakespeare.
I have three different volumes of the complete works -- all of which I've read cover to cover. I read Hamlet and Henry V at least once a year, and I have since high school.
Today, we were figuring out a projection issue at work. My boss yelled, "Visual Guy! You make the call."
I said, "I think I prefer that nickname to 'Shakespeare.'"
My boss looked like I was from Mars -- "Who the fuck calls you that?"
I was taken aback for a moment -- "Everybody calls me that."
It's a little weird. I've been working with this guy for almost two years. Everybody knows that if somebody yells, "Hey Shakespeare!" they're talking to me.
Apparently my boss just found out fifteen minutes ago.
