“You! What are you doing here?” Mox shouted at the person from the horse.

“We can talk that when we are safe. Now jump or I’m leaving without you!” the feminine voice repeated.

Mox jumped on the back on the horse and they started to gallop toward the main street. A group of Silver Guards was on their tail, chasing them.

“Take this and cover our backs!” the rider handed a bag to Mox.

Mox looked in the back and to his surprise, he found his guns and a lot of grenades and dynamite sticks.

“Where did you get all of this?” Mox asked, but he didn’t receive any answer.

Bullets started to bite from the buildings around them, flying dangerously close. Mox picked up one grenade and threw it toward the pursuers. Fortunately, he didn’t have cuffs on his legs, so he moved his body to face the Silver Guards. It was easier to fight against them like this. Taking aim toward the one in the lead, he shot his horse right between the eyes.

Horse and rider fell down at the same time, create a big commotion and slowing the others in the back.

But they weren’t out of the danger yet, because from around the corner, another group of Silver Guards started to give chase. Mox threw a few grenades toward them as well, but more and more people were joining the fray and were following him and his saviour. Fortunately, they were almost out of town.

“Go left!” Mox told his saviour “toward the forest, we can get lost there!”

“I know what I have to do!” an upset voice replied.

There were a group of over 20 people chasing them now. Mox was shooting them without stop, but they were shooting as well. Bullets were flying dangerously near.

Their horse was carrying two people and after the long chase through town he was tired. Little by little, the pursuers were gaining on the distance. Mox shot a few of them, but the bullets were wearing down as well. Seeing that he didn’t have too many options, Mox picked up a few dynamite stick and tied them up together, two by two. He lit them on fire and waited for the fuse to reach the dynamite. When the time for explosion was approaching, he threw them toward the chasing party.

Big explosions followed soon and a mass of limbs and blood flew everywhere. Screams of pain, curses and yells could be heard from distance.

“Tend to the wounded!” the voice of James could be heard in the cacophony of sound.

He arrived with a second group. They were just a glimpse away from being caught in the explosion.

“Captain, shouldn’t we continue the pursuit?” the lieutenant asked.

“Leave them be. They can’t get that far away. We will find them later. Let’s take care of these wounded men first!” James ordered, looking at the small dot formed by Mox and his saviour. They were disappearing with haste.

“That’s all I can do for you Mox!” James thought and continued to organize the men.

Mox and his saviour disappeared into the forest. When they stopped, their horse collapsed from the fatigue.

Mox set his back against a tree and sit down for a moment, catching his breath.

“Now can you tell me, what the hell are you doing?” he asked again his saviour.

She took the hood off, revealing her beautiful long red hair. Maria gave him a mischievous smile and said to him in her characteristic way:

“You son of a bitch, you think I would let you die? Didn’t I tell you that you’ll never get rid of me? Instead of thanking me, you ask me questions? I should kill you myself for this.”

“I put you on that train for the exact reason. Do you know how dangerous was the stunt you pulled? What if we both died?” Mox yelled back at her.

“At least we would have died together.” She replied.

But her anger immediately dissipated when she noticed that the Mox’s face was all white and he was breathing heavily. He was holding his right side with one hand.

“Oh my god, you’ve been shot!” she went to him and looked closely at the wound. His blood was flowing like a river. “Don’t die on me now, just after I saved you. You hear me?" she yelled at him with tears in her eyes.
