Hard work or Smart work? (Lession by stories part 1)

Once, a house owner was sitting on his chair, looking at the pine tree at the front yard which was withered away the last week. He was looking for a maid for his home as he was turning older and lonely.
Suddenly a man came by him and asked him for work. He became very happy. But right then, another man came and he also asked for work. The old man was surprised and confused too. He could not decide which man he should keep in.
Then he thought of using a trick to test them.
