You are very nice my king, to speak so nicely of your servant, said the gardener and my Son would be most happy to work for the prince.

The king waved him away, hurry off now and be here with Emlys.
Gaius was exceedingly glad the way things turned out, he was so happy that he skipped, sang and danced, in his joy he did not see a bear pit in his way and he fell into it.

Though he succeeded in dragging himself out, the sharp stakes in the pit had wounded him severely. He eventually managed to get home and he told his Son, the king wants you to work for his Son, Lancelot, be sure to make your way to the palace after I am gone.

You will not die father, Emlys cried, No, father No!

He rushed into the forest to get some healing herbs, but it was already too late when he returned because his father was dead.

Emlys grieved deeply for his father because he loved him so much but he had to put himself together for the funeral.
After he had cemented his father's body and thrown the ashes into the river, as demanded by the custom of Guhara, he spent several more days mourning and then he set out for the palace.
