Emyls and the Mirror (Part 10)

in story •  7 years ago

Emyls realized the Prince must have returned to the palace. He sighed, what would he tell the prince when he gets back to the palace?
No matter what he tells the King, there would certainly be a punishment, he was sure about that, so he felt that, it will make no difference if he should just tell the prince the truth? Emyls made up his mind to do just that.

Sir, he began when he appeared before the Prince in his chamber. But the prince cut in. Shut up, you fool I searched everywhere for you, where did you disappear to?
Emyls stammered at the s-stream I spied an old woman having trouble with her pail of water, so I helped her take it home.

How foolish of you! snapped the Prince. If the woman couldn't carry her pail, why did she go to the stream?
She needed water, my Prince and there was no one else to help her fetch the water.

Enough, Mr nice servant! your punishment shall be to clean the entire palace.
Emlys was unhappy at the Prince's unkindness, but what could he do? the prince was his master.

He had the mind of calling the mirror and wishing other servants to do the job, but he felt the mirror should be used for important things. So he braced himself and began the back-breaking work of cleaning the whole place.
