...When my testicles would meet with a knife, my feet and hands were chained to a table in an old building away from the settlement. Then someone whose face is covered in a mask cuts my testicles. After my testicles came out, they spotted something I did not know because at that moment, I closed my eyes in pain. Without saying anything, the bastards passed away. Then they buried my body in the sand standing up to my neck. My hands are tied back. I realized it all after awakening.

A few months after castration, I and the others children, were sold to the slave market. Most of us were castrated in the hands of Copts at the Gerbe Abou Monastery at the hillside of the Gheble Ether. There were also children my age who came from other parts of Abyssinia. They were taken to Egypt and the Arabian Peninsula. Like I said, I sold them to Turkey.

Sometimes I wondered why the Turks were not castrated? Does their religion forbid it? Why did they buy us? I also wondered sometimes whether Coptic clergy pastors who had caught, castrated, and sold us were really human beings?

While I was contemplating my childhood in Abyssinia and as a eunuch at the Turkish Topkapi Palace, suddenly someone knocked on my door. I got up and opened it. Apparently our leader who came, Suleyman, leader of eunuchs in the palace. While at Topkapi Palace we call it Kizlar Agasi or Chief Eunuch. They were the highest officials in the imperial court after the Sultan himself, and the vizier. Suleyman could contact the sultan when he wanted and become the sultan's envoy for various matters. Suleyman could also be the liaison between the sultan and his mother. The leader of the eunuchs is very rich, also very feared, but they are often replaced because of stealing money the sultan.

I invited him. Without further ado, he told her the purpose of his arrival....
