STphotochallenge - Forests - Amazon Forest Surprise :-)

When people think about Amazon Forest, it always come to their minds a very dense forest with huge trees and a lot of plants.

This perception is not wrong but you should also have in mind that Amazon Forest is the world's biggest rainforest with a 5.5 million km² area, covering much of northwestern Brazil and extending into Colombia, Peru and other South American countries.

Saying that you should be prepared for beautiful surprises :-) such as this one that I am adding to @stphotochallenge.

This picture was taken in a city called Alta Floresta, a municipality in Mato Grosso, Brazil. I visited the border area with Pará state.

Imagine after a five hours walk find out this magnificent view. Simple and powerful.
