Stream - Main source of water in hilly region.

In the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) of Bangladesh hilly streams are the main source of water for house hold use and drinking purpose. But the flow of water wanes during summer and increases naturally in monsoon. Still these streams cater to the need of water of hill dwellers round the year. But the water is often contaminated at upstream by different animal, birds and human being. The stream water is also contaminated during monsoon by the flow of muddy rain water. Otherwise, hill dwellers use the stream water for different domestic purposes throughout the year. The stream water is cool and clean which gives a refreshing feeling if one takes bath with it. The picture shows a man taking bath in stream water while a long plastic pipe is fixed upstream to take water to village home.
