Whenever you see something beyond imagination; products, services, concepts, exceptional talents, name it; behind that is a great man or men full of ambition to impact, make a difference and or to influence positively. “Great ambition is the passion of a great character. Those endowed with it may perform very good or very bad acts. All depends on the principles which direct them” says Napoleon Bonaparte. But how ambitious and what you are ambitious about is what determine if it’s truly ambition or addiction. Ask yourself, am I ambitious or addicted.
Thomas Otway believes “Ambition is a lust that is never quenched, but grows more inflamed and madder by enjoyment”. The more you enjoy what you do, the more ambitious you will become. No one ever have vision for doing what he hates, so choose carefully what you invest your time on if you care to be a positive influence as inspired by Ralph Waldo Emerson “Ambition is the germ from which all growth of nobleness proceeds.”
Mark Twain, the great American writer, humorist, entrepreneur, publisher, and lecturer advised, “Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.” You can become great, except that you associate with people who are detriment to your greatness instead of influencing it. While genius naturally makes great men, 95% of greatness is the hard work of ambitious men. I believe if you are ambitious enough, you will not have excuses to be lazy.
