The launch vehicle Proton-M successfully launched the commercial telecommunications satellite Echostar 21.
The "Breeze-M" upper stage currently carries out the launch of the satellite to a geo-transfer orbit. The branch is expected at 15:58 Moscow time, the satellite further delivers to the geostationary orbit independently by means of a propulsion system with chemical fuel.
The spacecraft Echostar 21 was manufactured by the American company Space Systems Loral commissioned by the global satellite operator Echostar (USA). Echostar 21 has a mass of 6,871 kg and is designed to provide services for mobile satellite communications, Internet and television broadcasting in Europe.
