JAKARTA - The sun plays an important role in life. Without the sun, it will disrupt the lives of living things on Earth.
According to research revealed by LiveScience website, the sun will one day be extinguished. scientist from Iowa State University, Lee Anne Wilson, explained that one day the heat of the sun will burn the helium contained in it.
It causes the size of the sun to shrink slowly. as is known, sunlight is formed from chemical processes on its surface that have lasted for five billion years.
In the book 'Miracles of Al-Qur'an & As-Sunnah' mentioned that the extinction of all life on Earth because the sun goes out. the fact that the sun is not eternally revealed through one verse of the Qur'an.
"And the sun runeth in the place of its distribution, so the decree of the Mighty, the Knower," Surah Yasin verse 38.
the Arabic word used in this verse is mustaqarr, which means the place or time specified. Thus, the Qur'an says that the sun goes to a predetermined time and will do so only until the period has been determined.
this means that there will be a time when the sun will be extinguished and die. In the book 'Alquran vs Modern Science according to Dr. Zakir Naik', several verses of the Qur'an have also mentioned that the sun will stop emitting its rays at the appointed time of God.
the solar operation time is also described in Surah Ar-Ra'd Verse 2. This verse also implies that the sun has a life set by God.
"It is Allah Who raised the heavens without the pillars (as) which you saw, then He dwelled on the Throne, and subjected the sun and moon, each to circulate until the appointed timeAllah rules the affairs (His creatures), explains the signs (His greatness), that ye may believe in meeting (You) with your Lord, "Surah Ar-Ra'd Verse 2.
Sun Rotation
In the book "Miracles of the Qur'an & Assunah" explained that the fact the rotation of the sun on its axis has been widely recorded. this fact can be proven with the help of sophisticated tools to take pictures of the sun.
Research has shown that sunspots will appear once they have completed a full rotation phase that takes 25 days. in fact, the sun moves around the sky at a speed of about 150 miles and takes about 200 million years to complete a revolution around the Milky Way galaxy.
