Today's Sunday school will be focused on Strength.
As Christians, there are certain things that are expected of us.
These include, living a righteous life, spreading the Word to others, extending a helping hand to others.

But then there are times where you actually need strength yourself. There comes a time when it seems all hope is lost, prayers are not being answered, faith has greatly diminished, the needed breakthrough just seems so far away.
One thing we should know is, it is okay to feel weak sometimes.

Let's take a look at Elijah...

Elijah had just performed an incredible feat. He'd prayed for fire to fall from heaven to consume a sacrifice soaked with water (1kgs 18), he didn't stop there, he also single-handedly killed 450 prophets of Baal.

But then what happened immediately after that?
He got a threat from a lady and he cringed.

The Bible recorded this...

When Elijah saw how things were, he ran for dear life to Beersheba, far in the south of Judah. He left his young servant there and then went on into the desert another day’s journey. He came to a lone broom bush and collapsed in its shade, wanting in the worst way to be done with it all—to just die: “Enough of this, God! Take my life—I’m ready to join my ancestors in the grave!” Exhausted, he fell asleep under the lone broom bush.

Elijah got to a place of weakness, he couldn't even ask for help, he just told God to end it.

Are you at this point where you have reached an all-time low? You think about how glorious you had been in the past and what you have reduced to today...
You think about the wonderful feat you'd accomplished before and all of a sudden, it seems as if the good old days are gone forever... You might be thinking, all hope is lost and this is probably the end...

Suddenly an angel shook him awake and said, “Get up and eat!”

Just like Elijah, God hasn't forgotten you. He has an angel sent out for you. Strength is on the way, do not give up yet.
The angel that administered to Elijah gave him such a strength that lasted him for forty days journey.
Your angel is on his way. God has you in mind. He hasn't forgotten his thoughts towards you and you will definitely get to that expected end.
Thanks for stopping by.
