They all stood watching Him. They mocked Him saying, He did save others, how come He could not do the same for Himself. They thought they were doing something bad or probably ending the life and destiny of a young man. They did not know they were fulfilling the prophecy foretold years ago. They were not aware that He went through all this because of their sins. He did it so they could be saved. Then He cried out and gave up the ghost, for you and for me.

What really is the relevance of this sacrifice you might wonder?
#1 We got a perfect intermediate in order to have access to the Father.
When Jesus died, the cloth in the temple that hindered Christians from accessing the the altar was torn in two. This means, no more boundaries and formalities just to talk to God, everything became easier. You could now pray In Jesus’ Name and He would be right there to meet to your needs. No more waiting for the priest to take your problems to him. We now gained divine access through Christ.
#2 We became joint heirs with Jesus
Christ’s death and resurrection changed us from being just the creation of God to actual children. We can now boldly and confidently cry out to God and call him Abba Father.
#3 He regained power
This is the most amazing of them all. Jesus conquered death and after His resurrection, He declared that power has been handed over to Him. This is power over sin and over sickness. This means, immediately we recognize Him as our Lord and Savior we get to partake in that power!
