CORE and CORE Media were birthed out of the community which formed around the SuperNET project launched by jl777  in 2014. Now that many aspects of the project are finally coming  together in fantastic form and usable products are just around the bend,  we couldn't be more pleased to help spread the word and keep our  audience up to date on the latest happenings with this revolutionary  project and its technology. Welcome to SuperNET Weekly!

Iguana Progress and ETA

"There are about half a dozen core bugs, mostly dealing with accounts<->address in the wallet. Iguana will be ready this year, certainly at the core level, and there is the basic wallet GUI, EasyDEX and I do have another GUI project in the process.

There are 3 reported bugs in the  github, but I am sure there are a few more, but yes for the EasyDEX test  sequence to work, quite a lot of the tech is being utilized, especially  as it is all running on a pair of iguana nodes.

Which means all of the bitcoind level  functionality is recreated from scratch, but fits in 2MB codesize, as  compared to dozens of MB. a lot of time it took to do this, and now it  is a matter of making use cases for it, like EasyDEX, InstantDEX, PAX,  pangea, etc." - JL777

Is there any future plans for BTCD beyond Iguana? and PAX ? - Proto

"Yes and Yes. I improved PAX design.  Also smartchains will play a big role in BTCD. Then there are the  things I cant say until Sep 1. Not smart contracts, but smartchains ie a  custom blockchain with a single Dapp built into it" - JL777

Are you waiting to start building more features until after Iguana? - Proto

"A lot of the features are already coded an in the repo, but testing and GUI'izing is the bottleneck" - JL777

Did you hire a new GUI team though? What about a testers? - Proto

"Yes, have GUI team and also Grewal is  doing EasyDEX. It usually takes half a dozen testers to keep up with my  output, so I end up having to test most of my own, which isn`t most  optimal, but seems to be the reality" - JL777

How long do you think the GUI team will take to make the GUI? And to fix the bugs? - Proto

"I cant speak for GUI guys, I plan to  fix the current set of bugs in the next week, but there could be another  set of bugs not found yet, so maybe will be a bit longer. After I catch  up, I can start making new bugs again." - JL777

SkyNET Update

"Update:

The coop is finalize now and the next step is to built a small team to change major parts of finhive plus  making finhive compatible to their planned system. It tooks me days to  explain decentralized crypto systems to the devs since they are very  good in building and maintaining monolithic/centralized system but  unfortunatly they haven't usable knowledge about cryptosphere. Since I  wrote the current system mostly based on my optimized custom tools,  which includes also the db-backend there is a need for following changes  to ensure other devs are able to interact and work on finhive.

1. Change the db-backend from pure KV to a mongodb/rethinkdb backend

2. Change the whole portal from current plain cgi to responsive/realtime angularjs

3. Change the data fetchers from c/terra to nodejs

Those changes are necessary because as  mentioned above the current code base is just to custom made and the  devs aren't willing to jump on code not written in a well known  mainstream language where additional resources could be allocated if  needed.

The timeframe for this rebuilt will be  ~3 month from now. It is not easy and will take some time to form a team  from devs without crypto experience but the agreement was that they  will add devs to ensure they are getting knowledge about crypto for the  platform they like to built next year.

For all shareholders without the  patience (which is understandable) more buywalls will be placed the next  days to offer an exit for those who don't like to wait longer. Just in  case someone like to settle bigger numbers in btc instead nxt please  drop me a line." - Nexern
