L-Theanine - What is Your Experience? [Supplements]

in supplements •  7 years ago

So, I'm considering trying out this supplement and I was wondering if any of you have tried it already. Let me know in the comments below...

There have been a lot of many positive comments regarding this amino acid which is found in green tea, along side with ECGC and other catechins. I've been using a green tea extract with a lot of positive perceived effects so I thought this may be a good addition to the stack.

So, the purported benefits are:

  • better mood
  • induces calmness
  • better sleep
  • better concentration
  • etc.

And some potential side effects, though rare: lack of appetite, dizziness, brain fog, and some others - though these seem to happen in rare cases and with very high doses. Again, what are your thoughts on this? Below is a video that goes into good details about it.

Haven't tried it yet, but it's on my wishlist.

All I can say is that make sure that you look in into the process they used to get the amino acid. Sometimes they use enzymes from genetically modified cells and micro organisms. I know most of the scientific community might not agree but I think it is important to take care and know where origin of the dietary products we consumed.

thank you!

My pleasure. Take care :-)

I love L-Theanine. I have a lot of anxiety and it helps calm me down. I like to take some before a flight.

How do you dose it?

Good question. I don’t know the dose but I buy them in pill form and take 2 when I’m stressed out.

Well, this seems worth looking into. I could use something to make me sleep better.

nice post steemian @cristi about suplement

Good post

like many other amino acids, theanine is not really improving anything. sad to say but i tried nearly everything thats promoted in the supplement community and its all the same. small to no effects. i recommend not to waste your time with all these supps. remeber there is a huge lobby of the companies producing those chemicals. dont let them fool you. best wishes steemitstocks!
