Contemporary Surrealism - ITERATIONS of Sacred Geometry

Art meets science at the frontier of knowledge and the human experience.
From the smallest particle to infinite galaxies, our perception of reality is the organization of space around us. My work is based on the idea that there is an infinite geometry supporting the structure of space-time. All forms have an underlying geometric structure and thus, may be understood via geometry. Due to my background in media arts and animation, I tend to observe my surroundings in a matrix, mapping the coordinates of objects against the probability field and analyzing the anatomy of my subjects to better understand their internal and external structures. By lifting the veil to reveal these structures through a surreal lens, I not only deconstruct our material reality, but hint at the possibility of higher spatial dimensions and levels of consciousness.

Despite nature’s geometric template for its creations, imperfections occur at all levels of the fractal signature, and I find beauty in the resulting unique asymmetry and space between chaos and mathematical perfection. These subtle variations propel evolution—both physical and mental—and we are defined by the variations we choose. For me, the deconstruction of subjects into their core geometric elements represents our practice of analyzing isolated segments of our past to construct and reconstruct our personal identity and story.

My work portrays transformative acts of thinking, whereby thoughts physically change reality, matter, and space. I reference my explorations of Newtonian physics and quantum theory through the use of hyper-cubes, platonic solids, and cryptic polyhedral in a two-dimensional medium, projecting a reality determined by intention and visualization. References to many of my favorite theories and philosophies are woven into the symbolic narrative of each piece. By playing on the extremes of photorealism and abstraction, I juxtapose the real and surreal to explore the boundaries between thought and corporeal reality.
