I am a man of nature, and have deep respect for God's creation and the fact that He set mankind over it. As such, we have permission to partake of and harvest from it, but are also charged with being good stewards as well. Harvesting from nature can be done in many, many ways. Foraging, hunting, fishing, gardening, and last but not least, trapping.
Trapping is an art, one that requires an ever growing body of knowledge about the animals that the trapper is targeting, and one whose challenge boils down to getting the game to put its foot or head in one very specific spot in the world. But, before a person can begin the journey of learning to trap, they must first know about the tools they'll be using! In this video, I will give you a solid foundation and understanding of several kinds of commonly used traps, how they work, how to set them, and a lot of other general philosophy and useful nuggets woven throughout.
I do not claim to be the absolute source of all knowledge on trapping, as it's not in my character to ever make such a claim. But, I have been trapping since I could walk (though my role at that time was to just try to keep up with dad) and learned what I know from the best of the best: my dad. As with everything I know, I gladly share it with all who will listen. I hope you enjoy the presentation I put together for you! If you have any questions I didn't cover or went over too quickly, just leave them in the comments below!
Thank you so much for watching!
