So, what’s the difference between bugging out, camping, and long distance hiking? Lets take a look inside Squirrel Bait's mind. I warn you, it can be a scary place. Bugging out is a treacherous, scary, and difficult thing to do!

Bug Out Bits: Bugging out is not camping # 1

With camping and hiking, your life and that of your loved ones are not in danger. You don’t expect to be ambushed and have to fight for your life. Every day and all day long your life is threatened in a bug out situation and the stress level is to the moon. Imagine carrying all your gear and suddenly your jumped from the side or rear. Try and keep your balance while throwing a kick wearing a large heavy back pack! Not all confrontations will be gun fights.

Inspirational! The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any. We steemians must stand together!

yeah squirrelbait I agree with schoolhumor, inspirational! lol. very good tip so you really should practice living in your backpack almost huh?

You should practice maneuvering in it that's for sure. Howdy partner!!
You might be a redneck if your stereo speakers used to belong to the Drive-in Theater.

haha! now that's a great redneck joke right there! but of course some foreigners might not get it. lol

Without a plan and practising it, most will fall by the wayside... A good, well rehearsed Bug Out Plan will get you well ahead of the curve.

That and having realistic expectations. I am doing this because I see so many people online thinking it's like an extending camping trip. They watch survival shows on TV and think a SHTF bug out in the woods will be the same. Feel free to weigh in on all this.

True!
Bugging Out will be stressfull, time-critical and fraught with danger. Movement, both on foot and in vehicles will have to be quick, low key and stealthy.
I will be adding to my series of Preparedness from a Military perspective next week.

Yeah!! I look forward to it! I have some stealth stuff coming out too. Several videos filmed. Editing them. I really look forward to your content though. I am your pupil from across the sea. 😎
