The Spotlight

🔥 Night Flight - Visual Poetry by @cronosclocks

First, we are delighted to shine a spotlight on @cronosclocks, who is today's featured Vision Quester. Her unique form of visual poetry wowed us. This Vision worked so fittingly with the Night Flight theme, and it took us on a silent Journey. To me, it invites us to face the shadow side of life, illuminating it, in order to observe ourselves with a soft and loving gaze. This kind of visualizing, I feel, will bring healing and well-being. Personally, I believe @cronosclocks' entry raises the bar for this entire event because it is so multi-faceted, so deep, and so expansive.

The Showcase

💎 Night Flight by @trucklife-family

We are impressed with this Vision, which feels like an appreciation for that dream state. This poetry offers something more too: an acceptance of the surrender to sleep. After reading this poem, and reading between the lines, I think this is the first time I've recognized that every dream is a Journey, and it ought to be appreciated as such. Yes, and dreams are adventures we can look forward to every single night, assuming we can cultivate the talent for remembering them. @trucklife-family's poem really feels like a gift, and the sourced image adds nicely to the words. I'm grateful.

💎 The Avatar And The City Of God by @elohprojects

The Artwork by @elohprojects is truly Visionary. With this image, I am reminded: (1) the Creator designed us to Create; (2) all of us are Artists and Art; (3) being Art and creating Artwork is our Work, with a capital W. In this Vision, there are imaginative subjects, intricate details, infinite patterns, mysterious places and faces, with strings of connection intertwining it all. I see a pyramid that invites me to climb higher, and I see a stairwell, a slide, and a snake ride, inviting me to go lower. I adore the central bird and all this animal represents to me: the big picture perspective, the upward pursuit of higher consciousness, the miracles held in every feather... Mmm, it resonates.

💎 Night Flight by @thekittygirl

We hold high admiration for the Work of @thekittygirl, who entered the "Night Flight" Journey with an original poem, accompanied by an original image. I relate with the way @thekittygirl sees the divinity in the moon, and I appreciate the way she shows reverence, through her subtle use of capitalization.

💎 My Dreams Speak To Me by @mountainjewel

This is the first dream interpretation we've seen in SVQ so far, which presented the question: Is dream interpretation an art form? And then, there's the greater question: What is art? Personally, I love the art of dream interpretation, and so it's easy for me to see the artistry in it. Dream interpretation is a form of creative expression that blends natural talent with imagination, critical thinking, and artistic interpretation in the meaning of symbols. This entry by @mountainjewel is made great by the ambiance, created by the images and voices of owls.

💎 Night Flight by @girlbeforemirror

So right to have @girlbeforemirror's words here, being in the mode of melancholy. This poetry is so revealing, so intimate, and so delicate. I expressed to @girlbeforemirror: It's as if I'm holding a feather in front of my face and seeing through it, to the fire on the other side. I feel a mix of warmth and chill, as if this fire is the essential life-saving force, protecting from the freezing winds of change. To me, this poem is enlivening, and deeply felt.

💎 Vision Quest Week 2 by @pual

The Vision of @pual speaks for itself, as far as the artistic talents go. Clearly, there is great sophistication in this Artwork. The illustration is interpretable in many ways, keeping us guessing about its meaning. At first, I saw "The Queen of the Forest," airborne there with the owls. And then I saw the woman as a person lying asleep, under a sheet, with a forest scene appearing in her dreams.

💎 Starry Night Flight by @artizm

This Vision was created first in acrylic paint, and then modified digitally to resemble the Van Gogh painting: Starry Night.

💎 Whence by @platosgroove

The words of @platosgroove are fascinating, and the presentation is stunning. The poem itself brings us on a Journey, carrying us from some mysterious Point A to some mysterious Point B. And the poem is brought to life with a lush soundscape, produced by another artist, drawing out the fine qualities in the words.

💎 Up Owl The Time by @artzanolino

This owl image is extraordinary to us. @artzanolino's distinct imagery is created through a mash-up of hand-made acrylic paintings, with digital photography. These blends are full of chemistry, as something unique is created through the combination of two images.

💎 Night Flight by @sazzler

The animated gifs created by @sazzler are awesomely adorable. And they're addictive, so watch out! If you're like me, you'll want to view them again and again.

💎 Night's Journey by @fishyculture

This video feels like a guided meditation. Here, she brings her home recordings of owl voices, along with her words and images, inviting us to slip into the Spirit realm. This is just the kind of Journey the Steemit Vision Quest is designed for, and I'm very thankful for @fishyculture's special way of bringing her inner Visions to the surface.

💎 Steemit Vision Quest by @losthippie

This image combines the astral with the earthly, providing an interesting view of the theme: Night Flight. Here, a blue woman appears to be rising from the depths of the emotions, bearing her nakedness.

💎 Night Flight by @thecreativerebel

The "space" we're entering here reminds us that present-mindedness is a practice. It also honors "the place between places" as a very special space to be in. After all, this is where the Journey is.

💎 Night Flight (Art Film) by @cabelindsay

Short and sweet, my entry is a simple art film. This Vision features a poem by Mary Oliver, called “Wild Geese,” voiced with the accompaniment of a singing bowl and a whippoorwill. The composition is visually enhanced by a dreamcatcher, a smoking braid of sweetgrass, and a barn owl feather.

The Rewards

Today's showcase is a collection of Works by some of Steemit's most wildly imaginative and gifted creative thinkers. We appreciate these people for braving the storms of this day and bringing themselves into the Flow that is Steemit Vision Quest. This a true act of courage, and it deserves to be applauded, and rewarded.

The Continuation

As you can see from Week 2, SVQ continues to create a sense of awe, with a blend of surreal, ultra-real, and superconscious Visions! Look for more otherworldly experiences in Week 3, with the theme: Angels Among Us. And after this, we eagerly anticipate Week 4, when the theme will be: Bliss In The Stillness.
