Louisiana may spend more than $1 billion next year on coastal restoration

Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards will ask legislators to dedicate $115 million of the $535 million state surplus to coastal restoration and protection projects.

Interesting article about Louisiana's plan to restore some of its coast and how much it will cost. Even though it's a lot of money, I'm all for the restoration of the coast. I think there's a lot of wasted money, but that's government for you. Fresh water diversions are the best option.

Wow, that's a lot of money for coastal restoration

Yep, if I was young again that's the career I look into.

Probably a lot of the money goes into engineering, planning.

No doubt, the people behind the desks make all the money, not the people digging and pumping sand.

At least something is being done about the problem, I'm a nature lover.

Me too, it's a beautiful part of the country, in its own way

I've seen parts of it. looking forward to going back

Hopefully more fresh water diversions will be built instead of the more expensive dredging
